Ads that don’t disappear
Vail decided it would be a good idea to put pop up ads on the screen which you can’t swipe away. The only way to get rid of ad is to click on it and go to the info. Typical Vail.
One issue
The app is good but there is one issue. I go to Hotham every weekend but every time I go check the trails that are open it will only show me the terrain parks and no lifts of anything so I don’t know what is open. When it did work there wasn’t runs like Mary slide or basically any of the extreme zone so please fix that and I will be happy, so overall it was pretty good.

Not enough care being taken with app updates. Backcountry and mountain reports were flipped today, morning updates aren’t ‘timely’ for making decisions on the day’s activities. There’s nothing about alternatives such as cross country skiing around wire plain

It’s good to see where you went with the tracking app, I would probably not consider using the friend finding as it is much more gimmicky then just find my.

Great effort getting heavenly open!! How about new batteries for the clocks in lift huts. Think lift prices could cover this small outlay!!

Good but could have more specific information, especially regards to weather. Website is more transparent than app. Also would be good to be able to book ski school on the day

Old people ski too
There’s a lot of wording that is very difficult to read without glasses, eg; snow report. Please make font larger.
Mountain
Quite disappointed in number of lifts and runs open on the mountain. Kids in ski school can’t even get a lift to ski a run. Good but very limited runs for experienced skiers And even less for moderate skiers

This helps with seeing what the temp is and seeing what lifts are open
Status innaccurate
For 2 days running the trail status is incorrect. Runs that are open are shown as closed. Runs that have been groomed are showing as ungroomed. Hotham, Lift your game!

As good or possibly better than the other Vic resort apps ……. could be better with more resort/personalities skiing footage & interviews etc. to promote the resort. Check out USA & Canadian resort apps!

No good on the iPad. Might be better on the phone on the day, but that remains to be seen.
Good effort, but not quite there yet
Overall a good app however I regularly find myself looking at the Hotham website page for the following reason. -app is really clunky, it often doesn’t work very early of a morning, just when you want info to decide if it is worth going up the mountain today. -snow report and weather conditions are not dated, so you don’t know if you are looking at todays or yesterday’s report that hasn’t be updated yet!!! -chain status needs more info like the website. Not just if chains are on but the location bay being used for 2wd and 4wd when they differ. -lift status often just says unknown for all lifts Please fix the glitch. Thanks for having a go at an app for Australia’s best mountain, with a bit more work you can make the app the best as well. Update for 2024 The weather conditions are time stamped and then the mountain report is listed below. Trouble is yesterdays report isn’t taken down nor does it have a date so if you are looking at the report at 630/7 and thinking of heading up from the valley there is no way to know if this is todays or yesterdays report. Is it possible it could be dated-simply in the reporters text, like “here is the snow report for Monday 8th July”, or delete it automatically at midnight, or have the app time/date stamp the entry. Option one would need no change in coding. Could a comment be made about terrain park status as well. Many people choose between Hotham and falls depending on the park status, especially when terrain is limited early and late in the season. Otherwise generally works well this year. Thanks heaps!

Nice App
App is good but can be a bit clunky to find which trails are open and closed. Plus is very inconvenient to have to take your phone to chat with mates regarding which trails to take. Was MUCH better when the trail maps were on the chairs on the chairlifts.
Useful on Mountain but..
Great Simple to use app that is identical to other vail resort apps. Only gripe I have is the gps tracking. I got around 15 days tracked this season with no issue, then gps just gave up. I would be out for a whole day and it would only track a total of one run with straight lines not even on any runs in the map. A bit annoying to have gps tracking at a resort but not gps service to use it. Then the app went and deleted all of my tracked runs with all the stats still being posted to the leaderboard. Overall a good app that does the job, however looking at snow cams on the website, the website shows more snow cams. The summit 360 cam and Hoff hut livestream are both online but not in the app? 3/5 cause it works but not really that well.
Hotham Outstanding
Hotham App is a great way to see current conditions on the mountain and the Alpine roads. Also allows me to track my daily ski runs and offer’s a 3D map view. I would highly recommend using the App…….

They want to track you all the time but do not send timely updates when during poor weather such as road closures, lift status. One page says all lifts operating then another page says most on wind hold?

It’s a tough app to navigate. They have tried to add a lot of features, but not made a decent menu to navigate it. Needs a bit of fine tuning!

A dogs breakfast of confusion
No obvious log in function. Took 3 steps to find it and when found, the app refused to acknowledge a valid login that works on other devices. Nothing is intuitive or obvious and takes lots of trial and error not to achieve the any result - rubbish and a wast of time except for the trail tracking which it cool, but finding accomodation, nope, buying tickets, had to go into the office to solve it. Gave up on the rest. The only satisfaction with this app is writing this review.

Great, informative, daily updates on conditions delivered early in the day and with a touch of humour. Well done.
Frequently very buggy
App fails to load sometimes. Takes a long time for trail and lift status to show Cameras frequently miss labeled or not showing Tracking auto disabled after 20 mins of inactivity ( would be nice if we could disable this)

Feedback
It’s a great app that I use 90% of the season but could do with some changes and upgrades. The older version in 2022 where we could see all the resorts trails under each lift was super useful but now not every trail is included especially the ones in the extreme zone so it’s hard to tell if they are open and even the ones that you can see often don’t get updated till the next day unlike the lift status which updates every 10 minutes. Another thing that could be good is something like the American epic mix app that lets you see all the resorts in the US on one app. It’d be an alright idea having this for Hotham, falls and Perisher. This is all just me being a bit picky but it would be great to see these things happen.
No cross country ski information
Looks ok for shops etc but completely oriented towards downhill skiing. No trail maps for x-c skiing. No grooming information for those trails either. No tracking runs on those trails. No information on back country trails. Just as well I’ve printed out a paper map. Should be called Hotham downhill skier app.
Snowboarding
Hmmmm snowboarding. Was bullied by entitled skiers during my time at hotham but still a great mountain. Staff, facilities and lifties all friendly and good.
Next to useless - disappointed!
Once this App was great! LOVED the map with the tracking.. Tracking was once a bit of fun .. but NOW useless!!!!!!
Hotham
App works great and is really helpful when looking for your next destination whether it be a run or a restaurant. Something i would find useful would be the implement of an extra section when looking at lift status. If the lift is closed i believe there should be a tab that tells us when it might next open.

What happened!
The 2021 version was great, tried the 2022 version and straight off it’s aesthetically less pleasing with the black black interface coupled with possibly the least intuitive app in which to navigate I’ve ever come across. Joining groups and sending your tracking details last year was easy and worked every day. We’ve been up 11 days this year so far and not once has the app provided location details of anyone except for the odd (43 minutes ago) tag next to their name. The weather and snow report doesn’t update reliably and is incredibly slow in doing so. As Regurgitator said, I like your old stuff better than your new stuff
Bring Back Road Conditions
Love the new road alert feature but bring back information on the road conditions please. It’s annoying that I need to go to the Hotham website or Facebook page to determine if chains are being fitted and to what type of vehicle. It would also be really useful to know at which chain bay chains are being fitted, if cars are being convoyed, and expected drive time from Harrietville to Hotham Village. I understand this can change but this information can assist when planning the drive up to the resort.
