iOS sucks for games.
iOS truly sucks for gaming. iPhone 16 Pro Max with iOS 26 retail and this is another game that just never launches. Of some 11-12 games only 3-4 launch and play. Wow, just wow.
Good game, frequent ads
Love the game. Not typically my policy to enjoy games with lots of ads but I can’t help myself with this one. I want to play it again and again. Maybe reduce ads to once every few runs? Really fun though, would recommend.

WOULD YOU LIKE A LITTLE BIT OF GAME WITH YOUR ADS? My god have we sunk so low you can’t think of other ways to monetize your game? I’m genuinely tired of ts when playing games nowadays. Other games get around this hurdle by making the resources gained by watching an ad as a choice almost necessary to progress. But honestly if you’re still reading this (most people don’t read app reviews) the game plays an ad after EVERY run. No matter if you crashed in the first 10 seconds or went for an hour. You’re getting an ad. The old saying is something like “death is the only guarantee in life” wrong. Let’s make an addendum to that and add in “death and an ad in this game are the only guarantee in life.”
Hate the app don’t buy unless update

Turn Daily challenges into game modes
Over the updates I’ve loved the new daily challenges and how much they change the game while also giving me the option to turn it off so I can continue playing the base game. Much like Apocalypse and Sunrise, I wish I could see the daily challenges in their own game modes. That would add so much more content to the game. Additionally I just played through a daily challenge “consume her eggs” this daily challenge turned the landscape a scarlet red. I would love to see more customization maybe landscape and sky color customization that I can earn with tris or quads! I hope this reaches the dev team that seems to to care so much for the game!!
Audio issues!!!
Ya good game could get into it… however during the tutorial I noticed a distinct audible pop/ crack at the beginning/ end of the vehicles sfx audio loop. How did this not get addressed in the QoL department, just cover it up with meh music??? Ah whatever… it almost had my attention.
Scam
Amazing game, but don’t buy the premium. I bought it, and it just didn’t register. Lost five bucks for nothing. Nonetheless, it’s a great game so it still gets three stars.
They don’t give you anything after buying
I made 3 purchases and received none of the upgrade and version of game,had to file a report with apple to get my money back,it’s to bad this has happened the game was quite good.
Fraud
The option to purchase the premium version is a literal scam, it does nothing and is a non refundable purchase. Multiple other reviews report the same problem with no response from developers. How this hasn’t lead to the game being removed from the App Store is beyond me.

Не понимаю почему оплаченный премиум не работает. Пробовал удалять и восстанавливать игру. Ничего не выходит. Возврат средств тоже недоступен. Исправлю как только подключится премиум.

Nostalgia
I remember playing a version of this game called sonic surge about 10 years ago and I love how it’s almost exactly the same I love this game!
I would give this five stars, but I can’t get what I paid for.
Game is a lot of fun to play. I was even willing to pay for the premium version so I didn’t have to wait on ads all the time. Of course, as soon as I did that, the premium version never activated. So now I’m stuck, I just spent $5, and can’t get access to the premium version. Nor does it appear that they have any kind of customer service to reach out to. So yay. Feel free to spend $5 for no reason.

I think it is a great game but there are different modes to purchase but when I do buy it it doesn't change bit overall a very good game
Game is great but premium purchase is busted
Great game so I finally decided to do the premium purchase and it unlocks the modes but pop-up ads still happen and no amount of restarting/reinstalling seems to fix it. Disappointing that this is still the case after many years. Clearly just collecting ad revenue as well as my money.
I feel scammed
I paid for 5 dollar upgrade which I did not receive so hey why not try the actual app that costs 5$ that’s bound to work and voila it doesn’t fit on my phone screen and is way small For 5!! Dollars the least you could do is give what we’re paying for

Paid for premium, money stolen
Basically as the title says - I paid for and was charged for the premium version but the app never lets me access premium content and continues showing me ads. Very disappointing.
In app purchases
Very much enjoy the game but I can’t get premium version, I’ve purchased it many times and it always says purchase successful and/or “youve already purchased this product would you like to get it for free” but nothing ever changes, I’m still stuck on the original version and I would very much like to play the premium version.
Promising but too many issues
Very cool game, fun graphics and gameplay, but there are just too many issues. The major one for me is the controls. When I have a jump, I typically unintentionally use it while steering. I have tried to alter my steering to avoid it but I can’t on a regular basis. The kicker is, if I do not use it, then try to intentionally use it, it goes not work. Other minor issues are that gathering upgrade currency is so slow as to almost not even be a real feature of the game, and the ads make the game unplayable, so a purchase is absolutely necessary.
What da heck
This game is amazing, it is calming with its beautiful atmosphere and its interesting mechanics. So, when I saw there was a premium option where I could play a calmer version if need be, i immediately jumped to the opportunity of experiencing the Zen edition. Though I spent the money, I have yet to receive what I’ve purchased. After I bought it the option to purchase premium still didn’t go away. I hadn’t unlocked anything and when I attempted to re purchase it acknowledged the fact that I had already bought it. Ive attempted to restore purchases and still nothing.
What a waste of $5
I was so pumped when I saw this newer version of Race The Sun, as I still play the original. After installing it, I noticed that they wanted the usual $4 or $5 to get the pro version and remove the ads. Well I also try to support dev’s I like so I paid my $4.99. Only problem is it doesn’t remove ads. Every time I crash and try to go back and start over it starts playing some stupid ad. So I scrubbed the app, downloaded and installed it a second time. Opened it and restored the purchase and viola, nothing changed. Still getting ads. So now I’m deleting this app for good and cutting my losses. But I still love the original version.

Having a microtransaction and ad-supported model is one thing, I won’t fault Race the Sun for that. But even when you pay to remove the ads, the game still prompts you to watch ads to revive, to increase your score, etc. and the career progression is still paced such that you basically need to pay indefinitely or put in dozens of hours to get enough currency to unlock anything meaningful. The fantastic gameplay is held back by that.

Why is there a level cap???
This game is pretty fun, but why does the level progression cap at 25?? The incentive to keep playing drops off because you earn currency so slowly, and now there's no more challenges, no more level up rewards, nothing!

Fun overall
Great game and fun time-waster, but a little heavy on the ads. I can look passed that, but what does irritate me is the daily object’s ability to travel through obstacles while you are chasing it, causing you to crash. Please fix that.

Анимация крушения корабля слишком плоская, ещё и занимает несколько секунд, что раздражает, когда хочешь быстрее перезапустить уровень Некоторое время съедают подсчеты результатов игры. Опять же раздражает, когда хочешь быстрее запустить игру снова В общем: UX мерзкий. UI устарел, для такой идеи можно цветовые сочетания больше в киберпанк увести, что куда интереснее будет смотреться А вот из плюсов: сам игровой процесс затягивает. Очень нравится простор локаций, и управление позволяет интересно маневрировать. Немного привыкнуть к скорости надо, но это уже дело игрока Смешанные чувства остались

In app purchases not applying
I’ve played this game on and off for several years, always really enjoyed it, finally decided to buy the premium version to get rid of pesky ads and it simply won’t apply. My money was taken and the payment went through but no amount of restarting my phone or restoring purchases on the menu seems to apply the purchase. Pretty irritated about this, hoping it gets fixed and I can’t uninstall the app because I worry I’ll lose all my progress (lots of ship upgrades and max level) as it’s unclear what is saved to the game store account vs just the app data.
Fun
As fun as the console versions. Just wish it had leaderboards like the ps4 version did.

Why have a $5 micro transaction that says it removes ads but doesn’t actually remove ads? Would love to get that money back but nope. Wasted on a game that seems only to exist to sell other cheap bad games. Which is a shame cause the original race the sun was a classic.
