Best long term memory app !!!!
Such a great app for learning AND retaining info. It’s great!!!
OneNote Sync is Broken
Won’t sync with OneNote at all.
Great work!
This application was something I was looking for a long time. Pros: 1. Good UI, hence easy to navigate. 2. Adding the third party app integration in the early stage was very helpful 3. Easy to see the progress. Cons: 1. Need to work on marketing (like more how to videos on YT, Instagram etc. 2. Need to work on integration, especially Notion, as it’s very difficult for a newbie to navigate and understand. (May be clear tutorial videos might help)
Great idea, poor design
I love the idea. Keep your notes where they are. Just add a hashtag and/or some formatting to existing notes and you get flashcards. It works. (Unless you are trying to use the app on multiple devices, like an ipad and an iphone. There is no way to predict which cards will be shown when.) My main issues with the app are design and usability. The metaphors don't make sense. The app is not accessible and looks bad. I find the shape shifting bubble on the Home screen so ugly, that I cannot open the app without my stomach revolting. It's a bizarre visual for such an app. Why not choose a metaphor, that is closer to the concept of the app? It's about cards and repetition and progress. The Decks screen doesn't show decks but is plastered with color-coded hashtags. Some are light green, some are dark green, some are light red, some are dark red, some are purple. Some hashtags are relevant for reviewing cards in Neuracache, others or not. I find this approach unusable. I want decks that look like decks and behave like decks. At least stop calling the screen "Decks", if you are not using the concept of decks. Neuracache is not usable enough to be useful.
Good but unaddressed bugs when used with Evernote
I have used the app extensively for last three years for law school memorization. never used any other app of this kind so no comparative judgment, but on its own, I have two cons using with Evernote: 1. syncing has been a problem from day one and never been improved over the last three years. 2. display issue when used with iPhone in the night mode. There are work arounds for either bug so, not fatal but after three years of no improvement, it is annoying.
Most perfect flash card app ever
I’m a commercial pilot and flight instructor who has tried every single flash card app available (paid and unpaid) and NeurCache is so much better then then competition it’s not even fair… use the other apps if you want to do it the hard way, I’ll be on NeuraCache - I left this^ review almost a year ago, and I am still using and loving NeuraCache, it is the best
Doesn’t work
I have a professional version of the app. Synchronization is performed only once a day. The application changes the order of the text in the notes…
Fantastic Markdown Flashcard App
This is hands down the best Markdown Flashcard app. The UI is intuitive and aesthetically pleasing. The privacy policy is fantastic. There are a few bugs here and there, but they don’t detract from the experience. What does detract from the experience, however, is the price. In order to use the useful learning tools (specifically for me, the “re-review read” feature), a monthly subscription of $3.99 is required. While I enjoy the app, I don’t think this is a fair value proposition. I’ve paid a one time purchase price of $10 for apps that do infinity more than this one. $50 per year for flashcards just doesn’t make sense to me. My preference would be to see a one-time purchase price option offered.
How can I turn off shuffle?
Love this app but I don’t like how it shuffles my card and it doesn’t do them in order like how I need them to be
All good but problem on importing OneNote & Notion
Great app, timely saved my Bar review, when I use so many apps to take notes and lost orders. But I cannot connect OneNote and Notion Token, there is a bug.. :(
Love this app
Simple but very flexible
Markdown Table Support?
Such a basic feature should be available at that price. | Where | Are | |————|-——| | Markdown | Tables | | :-( | ?|
Newbie
Love the premise of this app!!! However, I have one concern that I think the developers could/should address. In the app & under the “cards” tab, there should be a way to organize our cards so that us users don’t have one single huge list of cards— say I want to have vocabulary Flashcards for different subject matter or Flashcards with math problems, well under this current version of the app, all of my Flashcards are grouped together and if I want to find a specific flashcard, I now have to go through all my cards to find the correct one.
Too buggy to be helpful
An app like this should add efficiency to your life, but this app does not because you’re always having to deal with its bugs. A premium subscription may be recognized on your phone app but not your iPad or Mac. You cannot add images in the question. Look elsewhere.
Question on about page pad
I don’t understand what you get by subscribing to the $1.99/month plan besides getting a 30 day free trial, But don’t you get that free trial with the premium also? What do you get with the $1.99/month vs the free app (that you say is always free)?
Perfectly useful!
Simple, effective, and gorgeous purple themed
Constantly Crashes and Has Major Issues
Frequently running into problems where the app just crashed upon opening, no matter how many times I try. This persists even if I reset the device. I have only been able to solve this by uninstalling and reinstalling the app, which is a pain, considering it typically takes around an hour before I am faced with this again. Regarding the app itself, I wanted to use it to make flashcards, but its integrations are very poor. In my case, I was using notion, but of the large database of flashcards I made on Notion, only a few were recognised (despite me religiously following the given instructions), and even those are problematic and unreliable
Awesome
This would be my ultimate favorite study app if I could make multiple decks. So I can study strictly neuro when I need to and, study strictly cardiology if I need to.
Unfinished prototype
- no audio suport - no image suport - no video suport - no customization of the UI of note Many fancy features like markdown, Evernote import, but it is lacking basic things for learning. Anki, Mochi and other alternatives are supporting everything.
Ok
Ok, but sadly all useful features are premium which is overpriced
Important app for me
This app genuinely plays a major role on my life. I love that I can memorize my favorite parts of the media I consume that I put in my obsidian vault. Super important app for me. Really appreciate it
Not working
My one note will not sync on this app I’ve tried and looked at tutorials nothing works
Very impressed
The main components of this app hit most of the marks I’ve been looking for: easy workflow from Roam (JSON import), spaced repetition, elegant design. I’m transitioning from Anki and am a little disappointed that certain functionality is missing, but overall this is a game changer for me and if a few nuances were improved I would gladly elevate my rating to 5 stars.
Cannot get it to work
Really want to use this app but cannot get the app to recognise any of files. Spends a lot of time telling you why it’s a clever idea but much less time helping you to actually load in any cards. Only option is to add cards manually one by bloody one..
Amazing app for what it does
It works great, easy to use, great to look at, the functionality it has are all great ideas. But... Mochi has more functionality and as much as it pains me to move over because that is a lot of work and because NeuraCache looks better, this app doesn’t do what mochi does.
THE BEST
My first ever review on the App Store after having downloaded so many products throughout the year. HANDS DOWN THE BEST APP EVER!!
Seems to be broken
I like the concept and the product looks like it could be a great tool but it’s broken. Fix it and I’ll change my review. Thnx.
Works very well
The only issue so far is that every time I change a tiny bit of description in one of Evernote table cells and sync the flash cards into Neura Cache it resets the cards completely. I can imagine that the syncing might be painful to implement but why it resets all the cards, not only the one I touched is a mystery.
iPad & Sync
There’s no dedicated iPad app. And it does not sync on iPad & iPhone.
Excellent complement to obsidian!
I use NeuraCache to learn multiple subjects in my obsidian vaults! It sync with obsidian sync is smooth. It even renders mathjax which is very useful! Highly recommended.
Quite good
I wish there was a way to import entire folders of markdown files from cloud storage such as OneDrive or Google Drive. There should also be a colour blind option for the circle that changes colour when you’re using the slider to gauge how well you recalled the answer to a flash card. Other than that, I’m quite happy with the app.
Annoying workflow due to drive limitations
I don’t use iCloud and don’t want to. My notes max out the space, and they don’t on other services. This app doesn’t allow me to import markdown files from nextcloud or google drive, and it’s frustrating not really getting to use it due to that despite paying for a subscription.
Second Brain SRS
I am so grateful this app exists. PLEASE don’t stop development on it because nothing else comes even close to integrating so well with a Second Brain. I love that I am not duplicating information anymore between my note taking app and my flash card app. Users of Evernote, Obsidian, Logseq, Roam, etc. need to download this app.
Great app!
This is an amazing app, simple to use and works well. This makes it really easy to review notes and the repetition helps a lot with retention. Wish it allowed direct sync with onedrive or a way to import markdown files from one drive. As if now I have to move notes from onedrive to icloud to the app. And have to redo the import every time a note is updated. Other then multi step sync process I am loving it.
Fantastic app
The ability to import markdown files and convert to flash cards is absolutely amazing. This app has truly helped shape my learning.
Markdown Folder selection for Dropbox
Great product so far. Is Markdown folder selection for Dropbox on the roadmap?
really great
great idea and design, looking forward to further development around UI and options
You have my vision
I’m so happy to have found this. I use to use Anki as my primary SRS but there was no easy way to import my Evernote notes which resulted in me manually having to write them all out. With this app, I love how seamless the integration is with Evernote; everything works like a charm. If I have a highlight, it’s there. If I want a notebook, it’s there too. I do have a suggestion tho. If I import a notebook, the items that should appear should be a collection of my JUST highlights, not highlights AND full notes. Then, I’ll use the “edit recall question” button to create the questions. Finally, when I do want to start a review session, it doesn’t feel like I’m quizzing myself. It feels (and not to be rude in any way, I’ve started to develop iOS apps and I know how difficult it can be) unfinished. If I answer a question and move on, I shouldn’t be able to swipe back and see the answer to the previous question. To make things short, I think Anki’s review sessions model is exactly what your app needs. Your UI is perfect but Anki’s method for specifically reviewing, is better imo. Pros: - Seamless integration with Evernote - Clean, modern UI - This is the future of remembering whatever you want for how long you want packed into an app Cons: - Need to work on the review session as it doesn’t feel like I’m being quizzed
