My favourite games
Can you please do something where I can play Brawl stars and free fire with the back bone controller ,please it would level up my gaming experience
Controller problems
I have your gen 1 controller playstation edition for iphone and it worked fine but in the last 24 hours it seemed to have a mind of its own and it always switches me to the backbone app even if i dont touch the button which i never do so i deleted the app then now i get about 20 popups a minute about the app
Carparking
Can you plz add carparking to this app plz i really want to play it on the backbone
App update for the iPad pro
Would be very nice to have a better version of the app for the app so we can enjoy it in a better way please.
Enjoy
Game changer great for gaming
Intentional stick drifting
Extremely disappointed — don’t waste your money. I’ve owned my Backbone for only a few months and treated it with extreme care — barely any playtime. After a recent “software update,” the left control stick suddenly stopped working. It no longer connects to my PC, and there are several new bugs that make it nearly unusable. I expected a premium product, but this feels like a cheap, unreliable controller disguised as high-end hardware. For something this expensive, the quality and support are shocking. Save yourself the frustration and stay far away from this company.
Touchlink
Please add touch link for IOS too
Not working on Iphone 16 Pro
I purchased from Amazon UK the Backbone version (Xbox), and is not working
PUBG MOBILE IOS
Backbone review
Backbone is an amazing way to play games from powerful consoles and play with friends stream to twitch it’s just AMAZING!
Microsoft login issues
Sick of the issues with logging into Microsoft account when trying to launch games. It’s beyond frustrating now. It would be an easy 5 star if not for this seemingly now constant problem.
Worth it
At first I was sceptical about it but once I understood it I fell in love with it. I can play all my favourite ps/xbox games wherever
Not understanding
I got this as a gift but there was nothing that out of the ordinary like you can only play the same games than you can play, when on your phone without the controller. Like you have to pay for all of the other games not on phones like rocket league . You also need to reconnect everything which is annoying and doesn’t come straight away when you plug it in. I don’t understand that you have to keep on playing crazy prices to get a couple of games. In my opinion , it’s good but not mind - blowing at all it barely elevates the experience. I could play the exact same game for free on ps5 without paying for it.
Controller
Best £30 pound I’ve spent I like that I just plug and play my games easily no messing a round connects instantly. I use my iPhone
Scam
Your stupid controller doesn’t work and I haven’t had it for a year. Don’t buy it you also have to pay for half of the features after you pay for a 100 pound controller. The whole left side doesn’t work and it has intentional stick drift. I want my 100 pounds back and if you are thinking on buying this, do not. Buy another thing to play on, it isn’t worth it. I should’ve know this was a scam, the whole “company” seemed a bit off. I got it. And in less than a year it breaks, do you think THAT is top of the line. I’m just here to warn you to not buy there controller because other people had similar experiences. Don’t trust this company.
Great controller and app
Great controller, I’m hoping to grab a backbone pro..if ever they come In stock again 😔 The app is good, however I don’t agree with the subscription. I’d happily do a 1 off payment. But for gamer dads like myself, having monthly subscriptions can get costly.
Frustratingly broken
The interface is nice. But that’s where it ends. The app rarely works in landscape mode, and doesn’t always recognise when the controller is plugged in. Games will somewhat work, assuming you only need some of the buttons. Resetting constantly for a smooth experience isn’t very smooth.
Great but stuck
Can’t currently use the backbone browser for GeForce now or Xbox Cloud Gaming. Any attempt to interact with the login windows results in a minimise backbone browser prompt. Looks like the browser won’t allow touch input to the browser
COD mobile
Bought my Backbone controller in Schipol last year and so glad I did. I mainly play COD mobile, literally a game changer, pardon the pun. Excellent piece of kit. Wouldn’t be without it now.
Great controller! but not app
Backbone Controller great 5/5 but app keeps asking subscription would be good to reprogram button to use different app, I am just using app to launch OneCast
Its amazing but one problem
BackBone is amazing especially if you are bringing it over to your friends house (or family e.g) if you cant bring you console/pc! But there is only one problem. For me when i play fortnite i put on the backbone but its now working in game but it is working on my phone still (so if i click the backbone button it takes me to the app but just doesn't work in game). This only sometimes happens to me and its very annoying. Can i fix it? I still recommend it tho.
Payment
Why do we have to pay to use the device after purchasing it
Can’t change Play on any screen setting?
It’s all in the subject. The Play On Any Screen option is stuck on Universal. Tapping this option starts joystick calibration instead of the screen selections. Please fix this!
Great as a controller
Even though it’s £35 a month to play the games, I’m happy that I can use it as a normal controller. I like how it can have steam games but for now while I look for work it’s great, hopefully greater when I spend £35 a month
Limited authentication options
The app only allows login with Apple or Google. I would like to be able to use the good old email and password auth.
Good app
Would be great if it was free
Subscription based for most of the games
I already payed for it why do I have to pay more just to prob use it once? Could only play one game and sometimes the controller didn’t work on it
Connexion
Amazing
So good
Does not fit iPhones 13/13 pro
It tells you it works with them but it doesn’t
Worth it
I have the PlayStation backbone and it works extremely well I just think that ps remote play isn’t to good for long distance no wifi journeys but once you have wifi works well *ps If you are planning on getting/have the PlayStation backbone make sure that you put youre PlayStation into rest mode otherwise it won’t turn on especially if you are in another country
Great Controller, but the app gets in the way.
The app is unnecessary and gets in the way of using the great controller for anything other than streaming and recording gaming. If you’re not doing those things, you don’t need it. I’d have kept it if it didn’t nag me to subscribe at every available opportunity. Deleted the app and the controller works without it, but if you press the orange button by mistake, it’ll “helpfully” direct you to the App Store to download it again.
Easy use
Quick and easy to use, does what it says
Good hardware, annoying begging prompts
The hardware is usable, if a bit on the small side but it does the job. However, there's no way to get rid of the constant begging prompts in the software.
Great app, hate the subscription
I have been using backbone for months and it’s perfect, actually better software than my ps4 pro. I hate the subscription tho as it is so unnecessary and seems like a crummy way to make money
Makes phone more enjoyable to play
Absolutely love the backbone. The app could use a little tinkering to make more stream line other then that great. But really disappointed I’ve looked but there isn’t an option to adjust sensitivity of the thumb sticks. Please add this to the settings menu there just way to touchy.
Play anywhere not working…
Have a subscription but the play anywhere feature does not work… continually reverts to disabled even following a factory reset of the controller, signing out of the app and reinstalling the app… disappointing
My name is groot
I am a B tree
App says games that have gamepad support don’t
App says games that have gamepad support don’t
Joey
Yep, pretty good product. Although I updated my iPhone and now I have to get a new back bone haha sounds funny to say. But I thought if I’m paying for the subscription shouldn’t I be able to use the app with out the controller and say, my ps5 controller? Just a bit of feedback.
Where is the manual
The instructions are sooo unclear on YouTube, and it doesn’t come with a manual. I have tried everything to get it working, I tried updating my phone, reinstalling the app and I tried looking all over the internet but I couldn’t find anything please someone tell me how to fix.
Very helpful full
I got the backbone handheld, and with this app its absolutely amazing. 🤩🤩🤩
Amazing controller, unnecessary dark patterns
I love the controller, it works great. Unfortunately you need this app for some functionality, which constantly pesters you to pay for a subscription . Also you cannot remap some buttons at all, including one that has the sole purpose of launching this truly useless bloatware.
Needs Haptic Support
Hi team, wonderful product and service. Here is an Idea to implement please: when the controller is connected, to have a better experience, may you allow the phone haptics to occur - the whole gaming experience is dull when using a controller without haptics/vibration. If this occurs I would 100% give a 5/5. Kind Regards, Michael
Press X to continue
So I bought this for my phone and been going good until the adaptor phone part will only work if it’s jammed in and slightly on a angle which I can’t play so I decided to hook it up to my IPad and I won’t let me pass the press X to continue page
An Odd Experience
UPDATE: The generic response of the app being optional doesn’t change the fact that the app’s subscription cost is too high and unreasonable. “Pouring love” into the app does not means it’s free from scrutiny. Even if you want to claim that BackBone+ is objectively a good app, the pricing model makes little to no sense. Also, the argument that the controller is 100% usable without the app, makes the price of the subscription even more questionable… The controller is good, an 8/10 on its own. The subscription cost to use the app is unreasonable to say the least, so the experience is overall 4/10. Yes, the controller can be used without the app, but the app is part of the package being sold to you and i would lying if I said the app isn’t nice. The problem is, it can feel like a scam, as I do not believe there is value for money here at all. The app should be free considering it is a glorified menu for a pricey controller to begin with, or worst case, permanent access for what is currently being charged as a yearly subscription. (No one cares about the “rewards”, just get rid of them). Also, poor implementation of the PlayStation Edition, as every game just recognises the Backbone One like an Xbox controller, so all button prompts are presented with the Xbox layout (A, B, X, Y).
