Easy to use and reliable
I’ve been using this for 3 or 3 years now on two different cruising sailboats in Lake Superior, the Caribbean, and Pacific. It works great! Easy to setup and use and reliable.
Alarm sound doesn’t work
Alarm doesn’t sound on the latest iPhone update. Very disappointing
Solid. Needs a better remote option
This app works great onboard. The log showing the actual swing of your position is a great feature. One star off for the clunky way it alerts you when off the boat. Which is to say it doesn’t really alert you.
Sailboat
Does not work well for a sailboat anchored with 140’ of anchor rode as it swings around the anchor
Hard to figure out
After two years of occasionally using this app, I Still haven’t figured out what the large and small circle is all about and the degrees on the large circle. Directions are not well worded to assist with this. I just make both circles 200’ and the large circle 359degrees and eliminate the odd shape. I usually forget ed t to set at anchor drop so I put in degrees to anchor and distance my chain is out, otherwise the alarm goes off constantly.
A most amazing program
This is the second year that I have been using this program. I find the ability to set variable distances most helpful as well as incorporating the distance to the anchor excellent. Great job with this program.
stopped working
This was originally a 5 star review. The audio alarm has stopped working… it is now hit and miss for an unknown reason. I checked with the developer but no response. App is unreliable and dangerous. Would not rely on this whatsoever.
Great features but….
App has just about every feature you could ask for: set anchor location by distance and bearing, reuse a previous anchor location, etc. BUT it does go to sleep sometimes because of iPhone’s power management. Seems there is no way around this issue.
History used to be on pro. Now subscription
I bought the pro version of this app for features such as anchor history (a track of your swings around your current anchor point). This was included in the pro version, but they have since taken it behind a subscription. Hate it when apps take away something you previously paid for.
Map Info
On the Map it does not show distance to anchor. There is a scale for approx distance but to find exact distance one has to go to another page.

Keeps a steady eye on where the boat is at.
Price increase
Yes this a good app. Yes it is a necessary tool. However it is not perfect and no work has been done to improve it. So I find the process increase despicable. In times when everything has increased in price. You also jump on the bandwagon. I will be finding a new app.
Great App
The app works well. I’m impressed with its ease of use and visual representations of the boat’s track. However, I would like the radius circle around the anchor to display N-S-E-W so I can tell what direction the boat is moving.
Ripoff
Despite being a subscription based app, upgrade pricing is charged for what used to be included. It appears data is being sold to google for additional $$….
Works but cost just doubled
I have had the App for about 5 years. Use it and another together for redundancy. There were no updates since 2022 but I kept my subscription as $4.99 wasn’t much. Today I got an email saying cost is increasing to $9.99 … looked at the version history and they did 2 small updates in 4 years. I cancelled and looking at other options.
Great product w uncommon features
So many anchor watches out there but I really appreciate the “keyhole” feature that warns you and the remote alarm, via Telegram.
GPS Updates at Random after Subscribing.
Before I purchased the upgrade the GPS was updating constantly. After my subscription was processed the GPS now updates at random intervals. I did notice if I wiggle my device then the GPS will update constantly. I emailed support and never got a response. I’m canceling my subscription. What a joke!
2 Years of use.
I’ve been using this app for 3 seasons, coastal cruising on a 34’ sailboat. It works decently well. Last night I had my drag radius set for 225’ to give the anchor a little time to reset because I had plenty of space. Anchor alarm went off after a 180deg swing reversal but did not go off for over 700’ putting us almost on another boat. Maybe it was user error, but this incident made me question the app.
Ok but reply’s on location services
Ok but goes off randomly if you have Starlink. App uses location services instead of devices gps signal.
Needs better remote monitoring
The app is good except since most sailor like to explore on land we need a reliable remote notification of alarms. Best by text or WhatsApp
Worth every cent
I love that it will contact me if the boat moves beyond the limit even if I’m off the boat. Easy to use, works great. I sleep much better with this app running on my phone.
Simply doesn’t work
I bought this several weeks ago to offer an additional layer of support when at anchor. I have now on several occasions used this product and found it doesn’t work consistently, often freezing my position while I am clearly moving, send no alarm signal for either moving outside the set radius or a for a lost GPS. All this while follow the directions- -new iPhone 15 -location services on ‘’Always”’, -app was the only one running -Lock Screen - ‘Never’ -device plugged into charger (88% charge) It worked nicely for a couple hours but I began to notice the boat was swinging with a wind shift but the app showed no motion. I double checked with my main Raymarine plotter - and the track there clearly showed me swinging but Anchor Pro map view was stationary. I toggled to the main screen and it shows me 87.3 feet from my anchor (not moving) last gps - 0 seconds. I picked up the iPhone and walked 25 feet to the stern of the boat - still showing 87.3 feet. I manually brought up my iPhone Home Screen, selected the Anchor Pro App and when the map screen came up the location dot immediately moved 45 degrees clockwise and backwards towards the swing limit. The main screen registered me 110.1 feet. Through the course of that night and the next day I saw similar behavior a number of times. While the app showed no movement, my chartplotter and my own eyes told a different story. I’d bring up the Home Screen for a moment, bring up Anchor Pro and watch my location indicator jump wildly to a new location. The next morning, we hauled anchor and started on our way to the next location. As we slowly let the anchorage I watched as Anchor Pro’s little pulsing dot didn’t move at all. About a quarter mile away I flipped to my Home Screen, back to Anchor Pro and the dot rocketed to the east and the alarm went off. Too little too late. This app cannot be trusted.
I like it but. . .
I really like this app and I purchased the full version. My only complaint is that the circular (or semi-circular) field you set around your anchor is inconsistent on the map view when you zoom in. Part of the border disappears and you cannot see (graphically) how close to your border you are. Seems like a bug in the zoom function.
Would be great if it worked
The interface to actually set an anchor is good. The ability to receive alerts? Not so much. Email works but the telegram interface does not. I’ve tried twice to contact support about it but they don’t reply, so I guess this one goes in the trash.
It just works
Been using Anchor Pro for 4.5 years as full time live a-boards. It is a must have app for peace of mind. Thank you

Application minimaliste. Très peu de fonctionnalités même dans la version payante. Réglages position de l’ancre a la limite du ridicule
Great App for Bedside Use
This works very well, the paid version is well worth the subscription. Downside is you better make sure the alarm volume is up before you rely on it for night time use. App volume is not the same as ringer volume. App hasn’t had an update in 2 years so there may be better out there by now.
Currently Unreliable But Hopeful
This Anchor Alert app would be great but it’s not stable nor working properly. For example I’ve been at my slip for 12 hours now, canceled the anchor alert just before picking up my anchor and I’m now getting repeated drag alerts (modify drag alert created) almost every couple minutes on my phone. Also, when on anchor and remote from the boat the refresh doesn’t work. Being remote from the boat and able to monitor anchor watch is the primary reason for the app for me. If this doesn’t work, I can’t depend on the app. Also, some of the N2K data is not coming across properly in the app. The true wind is not accurate compared to my chartplotter I have high hopes they will correct the issues as it would be terrific for remote monitoring when off the boat using the DataHub.

Source of frustration
The anchor alarm routinely “drifts” and sets off the anchor alarm even though the boat is not dragging. After several instances where the alarm went off and we didn’t appear to move I started cross checking it against other anchor alarms. No boat movement on other alarms or instruments but this app showed us quickly drifting outside the allowable swing circle. The alarm went off and the boat had not moved. Save your money.
Awesome App
My family and I have been cruising the oceans aboard our sailboat for three years. I started using Anchor Pro about two years ago. It is an awesome app. I always have it on. Be sure to check out the advance features on setting up distance and using satellite overlay on the map page to see the reefs and bommies.

If phone volume is low the alarm sound is also low. I would like a volume setting regardless of what level the phone sound is set.

Essential equipment
This app is essential to a good nights sleep at anchor. Would love to be able to pre load the sat view for out of the way locations where there is no phone connection.
DO NOT RELY ON THIS APP - EVER
I have given the app 2 stars as it is quite useful when anchoring to tell if your anchor is set properly. It is also generally pretty accurate when monitoring position on the primary phone - although I did have 3 or 4 (over the course of a month) false alarms. The one time my boat had its anchor tripped (and moved over 100m) I was using the Telegram function on a secondary phone and it didn’t alarm. I had interrogated the app via Telegram only 30 mins before the drag and all was well. Luckily, no harm was done but please don’t risk your pride and joy using this app.

Love the app. Gives me security when anchored over night. Works flawlessly!

Tengo un par de meses usando anchor pro en el mar de Cortez en el área de la Paz - Loreto, y estoy muy contento. Puedo dormir y descansar sabiendo que anchor pro está cuidando mi posición con respecto a mi anclaje. La alarma es muy buena, me ha despertado en la madrugada en dos ocaciones en las que el ancla ha arrastrando, lo que me permite ajustar el ancla antes de entrar en cualquier situación de riesgo, y volver a dormir o a poner mi atención en otras cosas La recomiendo ampliamente.
Very good, easy to use, just one minor issue, otherwise definitely 5 star.
I found this app by accident and have used it often on a sailing yacht. It is very easy to use, particularly in changing distances between areas with little range and those with big tidal ranges. Only one niggle - I keep accidentally closing the app when minimising it on iPhone, sometimes without realising I have done it - dangerous, but my fault. I would find it helpful if there was a “Do you want to close” y/n question button like I have seen elsewhere. Otherwise 5 star, thank you. John M
