Registering and using is a joke
On iOS registering and using is a joke, random users created, passwords not updated, almost gave up.
Closures
I think it’s the terrible that the council shutting down Xcite leisure centres especially as I thought the health and wellbeing of West Lothian communities would be a priority for the West Lothian council instead of changing local street lighting when there was nothing wrong with them
App is no better after update
I can book fitness classes, and that’s all I want this app to do. So I’ll give it 2 stars for being functional but it’s really not up to scratch. It’s such a pain selecting a location then finding the class. The new update has location in the more section on the front home page, then you have to go back and select gym and classes, then fitness classes then scroll to find the class. Search doesn’t hide the keyboard when you’ve searched so it limits the view. Favourite doesn’t work as it only favourites that date/occurrence not the series/ongoing events each week. Please redesign the app with the user in mind. Have all fitness classes together and filter by search, location, day whatever so you can easily go back and forth with views. Or at least list fitness classes differently on the main homepage it’s 2 very duplicated taps. The main homepage has someone using equipment like they’re in physiotherapy. Is that supposed to be inspiring? Remove it. Replace it with a fitness class button. Bring locations into the view not hide it. It’s West Lothian not Scotland, people attend different Xcite locations for different things. Idk who designed this but pls fire them.
WLL Xcite
Should be able to view favourites from fitness classes not just from gym classes. Should also show the time of each class so that on a Sunday I could go to my Fitness classes, favourites, see which class would best fit my schedule & book it.
Extremely rude staff
I’m really disappointed with this gym. The staff members are consistently rude and unapproachable, which makes for an unpleasant experience every time I visit. On top of that, the gym closes at random times with absolutely no prior notice. It’s incredibly frustrating, especially when I plan my day around my workouts. Clear communication and respectful staff should be the bare minimum for a facility like this. Unfortunately, this gym has failed on both.
Anne MCCafferty
Go to this class every single week now it’s a problem to get booked up a week in advance not good enough
Poor payment system
Took ages to accept payment - why not offer Apple Pay? Tried to call and book, reception can’t book more than 5 days in advance Very stressful as only a few spaces in the class
Worst booking app EVER
Whomever designed and built this, needs to be fired!
Worst app ever
Genuinely the worst, most useless app I’ve ever downloaded. No initial option to even log in, unless you go through several pages first. Then when you eventually find a page to book activities, it doesn’t let you. Absolute garbage!
Version 107.63 crashes on startup
New version doesn’t work at all on iPhone 8 with latest available iOS 16
Back to 2000
If this was a corporate operation it would have gone bankrupt years ago. It’s only a council, specifically a British council, even more specifically a Scottish local authority, that could preside so proudly over such a poor quality web/app. Really, think about it. Why is it ok for pages not to load, loop back to the start, show inaccurate information or simply not accept Apple Pay etc. I’d even say it was a specialty of West Lothian Council. But no one cares! Welcome to the year 2000.
Annoying
Sports hall bookings (Tennis full court) only go up to 4PM and there are no available times to book at weekend. You either have to phone up or book at front desk if you want to book after 4PM, which defeats purpose of the app.
