Easy to use
Easy to add and control fans - I added 2 fans. I put them in a group so I can control both on a schedule. I like the user interface to set fan speed and light dimmer. Good that it’s WiFi enabled so I can control remotely.
Worst app everrr
I can only assume the 5 star reviews are paid for by the developer. Just wasted the last 15 minutes of my life trying to connect to the fan. Back to using the remote, I guess.
They fixed it!
So I wrote a pretty scathing review (deservedly ) and received a response from Modern Forms to try the new release. You know what? They fixed the connectivity issues and the app actually works well now. Has it dropped a couple of times, yes, but compared to prior versions it works as advertised. Good job! Keep perfecting it and I will consider another Modern Form fan in the future.
Logs me out
Stop logging me out every few days. It’s happening more and more often with ios
Glitches for 2 or more fans
I start the application, turn on the first fan and then I click to control this second fan. Application keeps on searching to connect, but it never does. Then I close the application and I reopen it and then I can connect! It does that nine out of 10 times I use it! So if you have one fan, it’s probably OK but if you have more, you need to be patient. Please don’t ask me about the firmware version because I do not know how to get it!

The App works pretty well, so far... I am eagerly awaiting the Conbection to my Apple Home Kit and an Apple Watch App.... Then I'll update my review to a 5 star review. Thanks
Wynd 60” and 52” fans
We purchased 5 Wynd ceiling fans and downloaded this app to update the firmware which was recommended before using the fans. I was able to check the 60” fan firmware but cannot check the other fans as I cannot connect them to the app.
Never Connects
Used to work most of the time but now it takes several tries to connect. Stay away.

Worst smart home device I own
After much work I managed to get the app connected to my fan and I controlled the fan remotely while I had the app open. After that first time, the app has never worked again. It even made my wall remote stop working. My lightbulbs manage to have better connectivity than this fan and app. I do not at all recommend it under any circumstances.
Janky at best
This app really sucks. I think Modern Forms made a conscious decision to invest in rating bots rather than a good app. Ever written review is terrible, for good reason. This app is infuriating. Simple things like having an outdated login system to a confusing UI. They’ve obviously gone as cheap as possible.
Works now but still missing features
When I first installed the sand 2.5 years ago I had already been through another fan manufactures wifi fiasco and gave up at the first sign of trouble. I have two of te Aviator fans outdoors and figured the remote was good enough. Just a few weeks ago I tried to connect them to wifi, and to my amazement both connected and updated with barely any trouble at all. I didn’t leave a review before, but now that it works I’m happy to leave a 3 star review since the app is functional. To earn the extra two stars would require adding Apple widgets or shortcuts to the app. Thanks
Such a bad app
This app feels like a single page web application built with a beta version of Angular 1 and stuffed into a browser. I haven’t used many apps worse than this one. Absolute trash. Avoid the fans and this app if you can.
Terrible app
The app will rarely turn on the lights or fans. We have a smart home, all other systems perform perfectly with the app but the Modern Forms app. The actual remotes work very well. If we can get one fan to work, the app logs us out, forcing us log back in, which we try to do, but it won’t log in. The credentials are correct, it just goes into wait mode. Been in IT for 40 years, own a software company and we code iOS and iPadOS apps. I’ve tried every troubleshooting thing I can think of, including deleting the app, doing a reinstall, installing it on our clean/lean testbed phones and tablets - but nothing works. I’m open to ideas, I’m fresh out.
App Loses Connectivity
I have had to delete the app and reinstall it to reestablish a connection on 3 separate occasions. This should be remedied.
Can no longer log in with Apple ID
Won't accept passkey, API is buggy. So now I can't control from the app. Wonderful.
Poor connectivity
I’ve been using this app for over four years and have five Modern Forms fans. Spent a lot of time calling back-and-forth technical support fixing one thing or another or trying to get one back online. Hard to believe that they have not updated this app to fix the ongoing issue experienced by almost every user. Number one requested fix?! That the fan actually connects so that you can turn it on and off almost 99% of the time myself another users have to swipe the app away and log back in. What a pain in the neck. Having to do it all over again I would’ve chose a different smart fan. And yes, I’ve called customer support , but there’s nothing they can do because it is an engineering issue
Great fan bad app
After adding a fan it works for a bit and then cannot connect the next day until you remove and add. Wall switch works fine and the fan itself is great. App is junk. I would be happy knowing an app didn’t exist. Get your lives together.
Terrible app
This app crashes constantly. I had 5 fans on it and it crashed and they are all gone. Garbage. Developers should be ashamed.
Horrible app great fans
So I can’t control my fans because the app forgot how to log me in even though I have the information from last time And even when I have the app working fine it’s so silly. They should show you all your fans on one page. I have five of them. Instead, I have to click one at a time for this dumb interface that takes up the entire screen for one single fan when it should just show all five of Also, Amazon Alexa Control some of the fans and not other ones I’ve spent hours trying to resolve it to no avail The remotes are hokey to super picky about how many milliseconds you hold the button down if you don’t hold it down enough no response if you hold it down too long no response
Pretty bad
This app, like the fans they sell, is poorly made. It constantly logs you out of the app. About half of the time the app can’t connect to my fan, I just get a spinning wheel. Every updates that’s released seems to make things worse. I’ve owned two modern form fans and both are expensive for cheap plastic. This fan and its accompanying app are pretty horrible. Avoid if possible
The worst app I’ve ever used
The app always shows that the fan is connected and it never actually is. The fan doesn’t react to the app and the fan beeps like a smoke detector at random intervals. Voice commands on Google home work reliably but somehow their app does not work at all
Unreliable fan
With the brand-new fan, this app worked for me when the remote did not, which was frustratingly often. We even bought a new remote and batteries, but it didn’t make any difference. Now a year later, the remote is more finicky, and the app didn’t work at first, but then it came to life and appears to be the only way to get this fan to operate.
Beautiful fans – awful app
I chose all Modern Forms fans for my home because of the way they look. The app however, is terrible. It logs me out randomly. Or I have to log out and back in just to connect to the fans. The app still doesn't even rotate to horizontal mode on iPad. This is frustrating in the middle of the night when I want to just quickly turn the light on, I can't. I have to go through this whole rigmarole of logging out, logging back in, just to turn the light on! I can't even connect the fans to the smart technology app. I use to control everything else in my home. The only feature about the app I really is the ability to schedule. This is the one thing that seems to work seamlessly, during the summer I have all the Set to turn on and off at a certain time each day at specific settings. This works great, I wish the rest of the app did too. If a developer this… PLEASE ADD HORIZONTAL MODE ON IPAD... thank you :)
Fan Great/janky App
We have three Modern Forma fans which have features we enjoy (such as the breeze mode) and work reasonably well with the remotes. The app; however, is a complete disaster. It has continual log in issues that makes using it 50% at best. This problem will keep me from from recommending the fans.

Stick to making great fans…app is abysmal
Not consistent
This works when it works, which means it doesn’t work. I have been using this app for four years or so and it works sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t work. The app cut out you have to put your login too many times in order for it to work. Finally given up on the app, I will rely on the spotty wall light.
