Hue is completely off.
I wanted this app to help me with a particular project on my adult coloring. I need help when it comes to layering to blend to recreate a photo. I wasted my money. And ruined my project. I should have looked at the original phot instead of in the app. I may have been able to fix it. If you have a photo of a colored page that you are looking at, and try to match it up, you put the center thing in it, the moment you move it it completely goes to another color combination. You move it slightly in a small range of area and it gives you a hundred of options of colors. One little area that you are looking at should give you that specific color combination. But it doesn't. The blended colors often look muddy. The instructions are vague. This was a complete waste of my money.
A good start to help choose colours
Please can you remove this picture of the month option? I get notified each month and it’s been the same picture of 3 jelly babies since I first bought this app years ago. Otherwise this app is great when you don’t know where to start with choosing your colours. You upload an image and drag the target over where you need it. It could be improved if the image would stay in situ when you switch pencil sets, or when you open and close app. I’ve found one or two colours a bit off but mostly it is a help.
Why can’t i buy
I live in Europe and wanted to buy the pro version. But that’s not possible? Every time i click on the yellow buy pro version button it does nothing🤷♀️. Dissapointed.
Stick with the free app
I’ve just upgraded to the pro version of this app and to say I’m underwhelmed would be an understatement. I thought the colour saturation tool would be great, it wasn’t. I thought maybe I could mix and match different brands, I can’t. To be honest I wish I had just saved my money and stayed with the free version. This app could offer so much more and be so much better. How about a feature where you can mix and match different colour pencil brands or that we can create our own ‘pencil case’ where we log all the different pencils we own and the colour picker selects from those pencils only. Also what about a swatching option (like Microsoft paint or be funky) where we can pick and swatch our colours and then maybe print it out for reference. If your feeling clever how about an option to have a reference photo and your drawing photo and superimpose one on top of the other changing the opaqueness so we can see where we need to improve / change and then pick the relevant colour from there. So much potential, but seriously missed the mark. However saying that the free version was great, just not worth spending the money on the full version.
Used for nearly all of my art pieces
I use this app for every colored pencil project now. It (unintentionally) taught me to use the grisaille method when using a reference. There’s a detailing scale that distorts the image to easily see the contrast of your highlights/shadows, to slowly build up color. My only complaints are: the color reference is for high-end brands; Luminance only exceeds 76; Polychromos flesh tone names are outdated; Prismacolor (Lavender&Lilac) are still a color reference despite being discontinued. However, this is actually pretty irrelevant if you’re familiar with a set of budget pencils. If you have a swatch chart handy, it can easily be used for any set - I absolutely love it. It was worth it for me to pay the one time fee of $5 to unlock everything for the things I do with it nearly everyday.

ability to remove a color
I don’t use my metallics; it would be nice to have the ability to remove a color such as these. I hate when I’m told the color is a metallic gold or silver, yet I don’t use these pencils. Otherwise great
Can’t use premium on both iPad and iPhone
I purchased this app and spent the money to upgrade, but when I open the app on my iPad it only allows me to use the free app and wants me to pay again for the upgrade. I really like the app but don’t want to pay twice!
Update needed
I love this app. It’s an incredible tool. That said, there is no option for the caran dache luminance set of 100 and that is really limiting my current experience. Would give a solid 5/5 otherwise.

Colors way off
I purchased the pro expecting the best. I tried using the prismacolor mixing that was suggested but the colors were no where near what they were supposed to be. I tried contacting the owner for help. I received no response and found navigation in the app not very user friendly. App was a great idea but unfortunately a waste of money. Wish I could get a refund.
Grid issues
I don’t know why it doesn’t allow you to set the height and with together. I set mine as 11in with but the lines aren’t squared properly. There are large gaps in between.
Pastel pencils
I have used the free version. If I purchase can I add Fabre castell pastel pencils to the list

Love it!
Very easy and intuitive and I received an immediate response from the developer when I needed more guidance. I own several brands of colored pencils but have the 120 Polychromos set, Prismacolor 72, the Luminance and Pablo 40 sets. Being able to choose the size and brand of the sets you have is wonderful because you don’t face being told to use colors you don’t own. Until Bonny Snowden mentioned this kind of app in one of her Vlogs, I had no idea something of this kind even existed. I’m so glad it does. I purchased the upgrade to access the 3rd color and feel it was well worth the $.
Not accurate. Wasted money
Skin colors turned out muddy and I absolutely ruined a sketch that I spent hours working on. There’s no support for the app at all. No response from the developers for help. Heartbreaking.
Glitch on my iPad
It appears I’ve come across a glitch where it won’t let me pick an image to use from my gallery, it would just freeze when I clicked on the image, other than that, pretty good

Not very precise
I have Prismacolor and Polychromo pencils. The pencils that they say to use to get the color in the photo it’s often way off. It has given me some interesting combinations that I might not have otherwise used, but not the colors I need to achieve the color I want. As an experiment, I’ve photographed one of my swatch pages. It did not get any of the colors right. So the worth of this app depends on what you’re using it for. If you want to find which pencils will give you a particular color, you are going to be disappointed. If you just wanna play with your pencils, but this is a great app.
Wonderful
This is a very useful app that has helped me achieve realism for the first time in many years of practice. It sees colors I can’t on my own. I wonder if the creator would consider, though, adding the rest of the Caran d’Ache Luminance line now that there’s a 100-set(?). Thank you so much!

Love the app - Add support for Derwent Drawing 24?
Love the app. Super helpful. So helpful that I wish it also supported Derwent Drawing 24, which has only 24 pencils so especially challenging for a newbie to colored pencils such as myself.
Why did you stop updating!?!
I was so happy to see all the different brands and was so happy it looked like they were going out to continue to add more, but they didn’t. It looks like they just gave up. Very disappointed.

Hi, I use you colour picker app alot and find it useful. I am interested in your custom colour picking app where you suggest up to 5 colours for mixing please could you tell me when you make your suggestions for mixing is that solely where the cross hairs are all do you look and an area surrounding the cross hairs? Doesn’t stay on selected photo
Why do you have to reselect the photo every time the app closes, that’s annoying!
Missing pencils
Had this app a while now and it’s very interesting and useful. It need updating to add the 24 new colours (portrait set) that Caran D’ache Luminance have produced. Needs to show as Luminance 100.
Color picker
Easy app works great for colored pencil but you can use it for watercolor oil I found the app on you tube and it works great or anything you want to match your color palette to your reference

Question and Suggestion
First - great app! Question: I installed on my phone and upgraded to Pro version ($7.99 is steep!). When I opened the app on my iPad, it was not the Pro version. Why not? Suggestion: When you close out of the app you lose your photo. It would be nice if you could store the photo right in the app so you don’t have to import it every time you re-open the app. I hope you continue adding other pencil brands! Again, great app.
where is the user guide?

You Have to Pay TWICE for both iPhone and iPad versions
Purchased for my iPad and also installed on my phone as well. VERY disappointing to learn that I have to pay AGAIN to unlock features on the iPhone. Already paid for that on iPad so shouldn’t have to for same app on iPhone.

rip off, think twice
the app uses the thumbnails and tricks you into thinking that you can do a lot more than what it actually does. this is mere picker of 1 pixel range. the grid is useless, the ratio blend is auto and pointless, it does not give you any rgb or hex values. i just lost $12 because i trusted the developer, beware!
Great Tool, but...
I love this app, an it has been very helpful, but I believe it’s due for an update. There are 100 Luminance colors, now. I would love to see the app updated to include the new colors.
Brands
The app has a lot of different colored pencil brands to chose from and while it has a lot of variety in sets (eg. different prismacolor sets, polychromos sets) it does not have many brands and for me it’s a little bit hard to find the colors because I have colored pencils that do not appear in the list. And since the color can differ from brand to brand, it is a bit hard to use this app.

Not accurate at all
I’ve used this app so many times and wasted so many resources and time due to the colours not being accurate to the pictures. Materials cost money which is being wasted because of this app.
Nice for a guideline
The only thing missing is a wider pencil range. I’d like to see it expanded to include Lyra Polycolor and a few others but even so, it’s great as a guideline for any pencils. You can simply match color for color if you don’t get hung up on the pencil name/number.
