It’s meh…
It’s a great app, just sometimes the messages don’t go through so I have to keep texting the person. They think I am spamming them when all Im doing is trying to get the messages to send. And sometimes the calls don’t work… It’s not too bad but it’s not amazing either.

You collect identifying information… but it’s not connected to me? Who is my information going to identify, if it’s not identifying me? And… how does that work, for an app that claims to be private? Go figure !! Such a shame, because the app is well designed and appears to work ok. 3 stars for that.

Работает. Но пока сыровато. Хотелось бы чтоб упор был сделан на существующих функциях которые работают криво. Переименование контактов например, юзерпики. Сортировка и группировка контактов. Отличие чатов от каналов и тп.
пользоваться невозможно
работает только когда оба устройства находятся в одной сети (lan/wifi), если второе ушло в lte то ни сообщения уже не доходят ни голосом дозвониться нельзя, потом как устройство возвращается в локалку с одним wifi приходит пачка уведомлений

If all that I read at the developer's site once will come true I am going to get rid of the spam calls for ever... I'm using this app to connect to my other devices and few of my friends and family that agreed to give it a try. Hasn't worked consistently well and there's no way for me to understand why. THIS IS THE REASON that I give it three stars but don't hesitate to give it a try!But I very much hope that once it will work and then I won't stop telling everyone for whom I care. I suggest all people who care for their privacy and a very effective communication to keep trying and if you can help with more meaningful feedback to the developer, PLEASE DO USE AND KEEP TRYING ‼️ Remember ⚠️ it's open source ( ORGANIC 🤓) and don't dismiss it.
Fantastic Skype alternative
It works great on my iPhone for making international video calls to replace Skype. It is also possible to add a SIP account (like voip.ms). Great decentralized solution for users interested in privacy.

Can’t import from another device
I have an account created on the laptop(windows), then on iOS jami app, I chose import from another device. After a brief delay (screen showing a waiting/busy sign), scan the QR code failed each time. Eventually I had to use import from acct backup.
Seems pretty good, but some problems
We installed Jami across all our family devices this evening. I set up a group swarm, like a group chat on WhatsApp. My daughter blasted the chat with GIF’s and now my wife and I can’t open the swarm on our iOS devices, although my kids can open the swarm, and I can open the swarm on my Linux PC. In the end we had to set up a new “backup swarm” so that we can continue chatting. I’d be happy to know how to work around or fix this, as I know that I’m not the product in this app and someone has gone to the effort of writing a reasonably decent bit of software and given it out for free.

it doesn't seem to be working properly
I don’t understand why it can’t work normally in mainland China, even after enabling VPN, it’s still abnormal. I can’t understand whether Jami, which is based on blockchain and end-to-end encryption technology, will be disabled? Session is also a communication App based on blockchain and end-to-end encryption. It does not require a VPN to function properly. Why?
Great for Ubuntu desktop
It works great on Ubuntu desktop. Unfortunately the installation on my iPhone was crashing all the time :-). Is it iPhone’s fault or Jami’s fault?

Still Hit or Miss
I periodically revisit Jami from time to time with a couple friends and here are my latest findings. 1) Messaging only seems to work if the client is online. Eg: only way my friend knows to check Jami is if I tell them to via some other method 2) Audio works over the internet but video is no go 3) Sending pictures does not seem to work and fails 4) Battery usage could be better 5) Going to the home screen pauses the call instead of it continuing in the background While the quality of the audio call was good, we could not get video working. Though previously, video quality was on par with other apps. Hope the developers keep working on this

Why cannot I send messages at all? My contact and I can send messages to each other on our own platform, but they can’t be read.

Can’t open video link iPadOS to Windows
As above, I can text but no video. The Windows user can establish full link to me. My iOS is 13.4.1
glaring UI issues
just installed and no UI buttons are showing (ios 12.1)… I have to guess where the “send” button is, or “back”, “attach” etc. just a completely blank space. fortunately the app works otherwise… just have to guess where all UI elements are >_>
A hidden gem
Fast and reliable p2p video calls, clean UI and most importantly open source. To add other users either use the username or QR code, the lengthy user ID is not required (which can also be copied). Good work Canada!
Most of Features Do Not Work
Text message works for me , but not my fiancée. Phone call and video call works for neither of us. Have no trouble using other similar apps such as Telegram or Signal for texts, phone calls, or video calls. This app needs a lot of improvement.
Thanks for fixing the battery usage
I use the app a lot. Only issues I have are 1. Photos won't send. 2. U can't swipe on a msg so U can quick reply to that msg, then it shows the other person which msg u were responding too (like signal) 3. In China sometimes msg won't send on one phone but do for another. One person can get the spinning wheel that msg won't send and other person is fine. Idk if it's a China issue or an app issue.

Can’t Video Call
I love using the app however I can’t video call anyone! I don’t understand why.
Decentralization secure messaging and VOIP app
I like decentralized architecture, non reliance in phone number or email address (anonymous). Push. Notification is there but doesn’t work at times.
iOS app is buggy
I recently started using this app but I have experienced some issues. 1) Texts take a really long time to be delivered. 2) Uploads of files, videos and pictures have failed. 3) Calls are dropped. I am a fan of your project but these issues urgently need attention.

High hopes, audio glitches are a show stopper
I wanted to use this for group chat with some friends. It works well enough for text, but it keeps putting our phone’s into mono mode, like it’s on a call. It does that in text chat mode, and also in the background while the app isn’t opened. Had to uninstall almost immediately.
Has potential but lots of bugs
Multiple accounts is great. Sign up process could be more streamlined but not bad. App often crashes on load but is often remedied with another attempt to start. Forces sending square images for whatever reason. Media used to work but latest updated broke it. Definitely needs unit testing.

When you watch videos the sound stops playing out the speaker and instead plays through the part you use when you’re on a phone call.

Super idée mais ça plante
Super idée, enfin une appli de chat indépendante. Seulement, difficile de se connecter, de plus des messages n’arrivent pas ou avec plusieurs heures de retards. En visio, cela raccroche tout seul subitement des fois. Attente d’une version plus stable pour iOS.

Some what functional but lacking
Bugs I ran into the last stable version of Ring Gnu before the change into Jami: - Glitchy voice chatter when making calls out. - Unable to zoom into photos sent or received. - Constant crashing when trying to select contacts. Other than these issues, it’s a nice app and will continue to use it and give it a shot for the sake of privacy.
New project with a great start
It works. I sent texts, made a voice and video call without issue. This client is not as fleshed out as the android version. However this client is only a couple of months old and is making steady progress. Thanks for a secure decentralized communications application!
