Features to consider 1. Collaborative task between kids. Each contributes points at their will. 2. Weekly/monthly tasks: e.g. a task needs to be completed only two times a week. After two occurrences, remove it from the list for that week.

I can’t figure out another way to get help, hopefully this works. We love the app and it’s been really helpful but I can’t figure out how to use the thumbucks? And the ‘lock in thumbucks’ button isn’t working. Help please!
Watch Compatibility Falls Short of Expectation
This app has a great concept. However, both of my children use Apple Watches connected through my parent iPhone, and unfortunately, the app doesn’t function as expected. Although it claims to be compatible with Apple Watch, it requires each watch to be paired with its own iPhone or tablet to access any features. This limits its usefulness for families where children don’t have their own devices. It would be much more effective if the parent could manage and push the app to the children’s watches independently of whether they have personal iPhones or tablets. We’ve decided to cancel our free trial and will continue using Apple’s built-in reminder and calendar apps to track chores and behaviors.

It is over all a great app for tracking daily behavior and encouraging your child to do chores
Chores?
Advertised as a chore tracking app, but really is just a reward tracking tool. No way to track specific chores/routines.
Could use a few improvements, but a great app
Overall this is a great app. Makes it easy to keep track of points and rewards. It could use a couple of tweaks though. For instance, the reporting could be much better. I’d like to see details for each day on what thumbs were given and what was bought. I’d love to not have to hit send to bank every time. I don’t think most people are using the thumbs immediately. It would be great if the kid version could request thumbs from the adult. For instance when they’ve done a chore.
Sadly didn’t work for us
It definitely needs to tally up the points and deduct from the same amount. It also doesn’t allow payouts. So back to pen and paper.
Looping
Looks like a really cool app….if I could actually get into it. It keeps looping back to how the thumbs up and down function works, and then takes me along to the subscription page. This has happened about 4x now and it doesn’t seem to recognize that I’ve ALREADY done all this. I’d signed up for the free trial, but have now canceled since it’s stuck, and I can’t get past the front door.
Great- but has bugs
Update/ the dev team is so responsive! They’ve fixed the bugs!!! Wow what an amazing experience! I don’t have to continuously reorganise the tasks anymore 🏅🏅🏅🏅 thank you! Changed to 5 stars instead of 4! The app signs me out constantly and that’s a bit annoying. Organizing the tasks only applies to one day. The next day I have to reorganize them which is. Also annoying. The concept of this app is incredible! Love it! I wish they’d fix those 2 issues though!
The latest update is bad
The latest update breaks the app for me. It locks up after awarding a thumb. Closing the app doesn’t always resolve the issue. Also, even when it works, there are too many steps involved in just awarding or penalizing that it is distracting and inconvenient.
Great behavior tracking app- Miss the iWatch program!!!
We have been big fans of the Thumbster App for the past 2 years and I always recommend it to friends. BUT the biggest draw for me was the ability to give a thumbs up from my iWatch. I didn’t have to have my phone on me and I could do it quickly and more frequently (thus generating more positive feedback for my kids). Plus it eliminated the begging of my kids to do their thumbs up from my phone. When the big app upgrade happened, the watch program disappeared and ever since then I don’t use it as frequently. I try hard not to be on my phone constantly so I just got out of the habit of giving thumbs to my kids. And when I do pull it out they always want to do it themselves, which adds even more time to the process which deters me from wanting to readily give thumbs ☹️ The best part of Thumbsters vs. sticker charts was that you didn’t have to be around it to give the “sticker”. Once you start to forget about giving them out, the kids loose their motivation and thus stop trying with the positive behavior. Loosing the iWatch capability has been a huge setback for us so I’m going to start actively looking for a new program that is iWatch compatible. If you add it back, please let me know!!
Cannot connect to other parent
My ex husband and I are trying to sync this behavior chart and every time he gives me the code to connect to the family... it either won’t take the code or it won’t connect at all and it stops. How can I connect to his?
Hate the update
Too many clicks required to award a thumb. And too many notifications. The notification of how many days in a row I've awarded thumbs is infuriating. Also annoyed that the app description said it could be used on apple watch when I purchased last school year. That's still not possible. Also there's no quick way to view progress toward goal, which is very motivating to see for my kids. You can get to it, but a glitch makes it hard to toggle between kid profiles. Also liked the old graphics much better. The beauty of the original app was it's ease of use. Please revert and add apple watch functionality. We loved the original version and have recommended over and over again!

The new version is meant to look flashy but is so many clicks. I just want to easily go over thumbs up behaviors with the kids before bed but this new version is an unwelcome change.
Working well - needs kids’ version
I tried quite a few ‘rewards’ apps to use at home with my daughter - I was pushed to the brink by lack of toilet flushing 😂. This app is great. It’s visually exciting for her and very customisable for me. Also my parents can use the same account to add to the same goals and keep up conversations about good behaviours and so on. She loves choosing what goal to spend her ‘thumbs’ on. I just hope they manage to bring out a kids version so she can see her progress in her own iPad. And I am pleased to report that since starting with the app a couple of months ago, the toilet is always flushed!
Crashes when attempting to add more children
Every time I search for a picture to add another child, the app crashes. My phone has also been acting strange since downloading and other apps have crashing.
Could be great but needs improvement
The concept of this app is fantastic, and it’s fairly easy to use. However, it would be much better with a child-specific version that I could install on my kids' iPads. Currently, they can give themselves thumbs up or down, which defeats the purpose of a parent or caregiver managing the rewards. The child view should only allow them to see their report, points, and reasons behind the rewards. I added my child as a 'family member' using the family code and selected 'child,' he still had the ability to give himself thumbs up, which defeats the purpose. I assumed that selecting adding a family member as 'child' would remove this option. Because of this, I also enabled 'Access Protection' on my side with a parent password THINKING doing that would disable his ability to give himself points, but after inviting my child to the family on his iPad,again as a “child”, he could still give himself points even with Access Protection turned on. If I turn on 'Access Protection' on his device, he won’t be able to use the app at all because he won't have the parent code which I obviously wouldn’t give him. Additionally, there should be an option to edit entries. I accidentally selected the wrong goal and now can't go back to correct it, which is frustrating. Additionally, if a child logs out by accident (which happened several times), they can't log back into the family without requesting to be added again as a child in the family, but once I granted the same child access again, my app shows him duplicated! There are definitely some kinks that need to be worked out for a smoother experience. The reporting feature is not very helpful to see points broken down by hour and color code. Instead, the report should show details of the behavior and goals, the points awarded, and what they were awarded for. For example, if my child got a thumbs up at 8 a.m. for 'Getting Ready for School' and earned 2 points toward the 'Extra Screen Time' goal, the report he sees should display: 8 a.m. - 'Getting Ready for School' - 2 pts - Extra Screen Time Goal. This type of summary would be much more useful than just a color-coded hourly view for the WHOLE day as there are many hours they are away at school where there is NO activity. You should only see the hours when there is activity. With these improvements, the app would be much more effective. I put in a request through app support but figured it was good for other parents to know there are some kinks that you need to watch out for when using this app. It does take a little playing around because it’s not as counterintuitive … the menu at the bottom isn’t great & the repointing isn’t good either

What a great way to assign chores to the children. Love the way it reinforces good behavior and teach them how to keep track of their chores. Brilliant!

It was fine the way it was- the new version is such a nuisance. You’re supposed to simplify- not complicate.
Update great, but where’s Apple Watch?!
Great update, however there not longer seems to be an apple watch version. The watch version was so helpful in being able to immediately assign thumbs. Often I don’t have my phone in my hand and the kids get grumpy when we argue about how many thumbs they have/don’t have according to our memory! I hope this feature returns!
No where to cancel easily
I’m about to be charged for a subscription I didn’t know we had and I haven’t used the app in 9 months. I cannot find how to cancel on the app or on the website. This should be a simple step and not a headache. The app, itself, is fine, but not having an easy way to cancel is a HUGE problem.
Good idea, way too much clicking
The idea is to record thumbs up and thumbs down for child’s behavior and tie it to a goal or incentive. This is a tried and true method for kids behavior management. The app looks great and is fun to use but takes too long for a busy teacher or parent imo. For instance, to give a thumbs up, I have to open the app, click on the kid I want to record for (even if they’re the only kid registered btw), click on a cartoon icon of a monster’s thumbs up, click on my reason for the thumbs up, and then one more screen to choose some other useful options, that’s 5 clicks for one thumbs up if you skip all the extra options. It would be much better if once you opened the app there was a list down one side of thumbs up reasons and a list down the other side of thumbs down reasons, clicking a reason would bring you to the options page which allowed you to choose which child to assign to and anything else you wanted, and done. For 8/month 😳 I wish this app were a lot more streamlined.

Stop Resetting My App
I love this app, I love this concept for goal setting. Except now my kid is sitting here crying because we went to do his thumbs up and everything is GONE. For the second time. This is a pain in the neck to set up, and to figure out where he was with all of his goals - plus the recent changes that make assigning thumbs to goals an extra step for him to mess up, and resetting goals nearly impossible - I don’t know that I’ll be continuing with this app. REALLY disappointed, and I’m a pro user.
So far so good but can you ….
Make a version of the app that can be added to a child’s device so they are able to review their own progress? This would elevate it to 5 stars for me. Otherwise this is a simple and intuitive app that can be used on multiple devices with graphics that are appealing to children.
Can not connect 2nd device
Even after paying for this app’s family plan, we have been unable to connect my husband’s device to our account after 2 months of trying. When my husband tries to enter the code to join, there is no submit button, so I never receive his request to be approved. The only reason to pay is so both parents can keep track of kids’ behavior, so it was a complete waste of money; when I click on “Help” in the app, the page is conveniently broken. I do like the app itself; it’s easy to keep track of detailed behavior and allows you to add your own categories. It’s easy to use, but it is absolutely a scam to pay for this. Use the free version and don’t give this company a penny because they do not deliver on the multi-device promise that you’re paying for.
Constant bugs
I want this to work since it’s a great concept, but the subscription features rarely work as designed. Support is responsive and quick to release patches, but I often find new bugs afterwards.
Life-Changing!
This app has truly changed the way we parent and the climate of our household! We used to become so frustrated after saying the same things again and again, when in reality, we weren’t speaking, our kids language. The Thumsters app has bridged that gap and motivated our children to see the value in chores, kindness, selflessness, and going out of the way to help others. What first was motivated by receiving “thumbs up”, is now motivated by the way, they see their actions affecting others around them. We are so grateful we found the Thumsters app!
Where is my count?
I don't use this every ten minutes of every hour of every day because I am a normal human being with a job and other things to do besides hovering over my kids CONSTANTLY to give them thumbs up or down for literally every blink. So after doing all the set-up and navigating around I gave some thumbs up and down and then came back two days later to see all the thumbs GONE. I had to click through 7 screens to see a "historical" report which 100% defeats the point of the app. I don't want it to reset the count for me unless I have decided that I should reset it. The goals I set weren't met, and I couldn't see progress towards the goal because the app ate the thumbs. So yea if you are a micromanaging helicopter or if your children are glued to your hips all day and you thumb them constantly with your phone at every turn, this might be great. But if you are a normal person and your kids have any space at all, this app is worthless.
Great premise / unnecessary gender choice
We’re just getting started and this is exactly what we need for behavior tracking. As the app suggested, we involved the child whose behavior we’re targeting in the setup. Unfortunately, the app asks for each child’s gender at the outset and the child we’re focused on identifies as non-binary. The requirement for a gender choice led the child to have a very adverse reaction to the app. There’s no reason the app needs the child’s gender and I’d love to see that question removed.

Downloaded and bought subscription to have numerous members Logged me out and then wouldn’t let me log back on saying I can only have one device logged in , despite paying for more and it being the only device anyway
Meh.
I mean. Any time my kid doesn’t good or bad he’s going to see me open my phone to log it. This is okay I guess though I was hoping he could use the app to log chores. Did he brush his teeth, put away his laundry, do his piano…. To me that would be more useful than me in the moment giving him a thumbs down for not listening. I can see that part used as a bonus/punishment on top of the chores but I’m not going to log all his chores for him and there’s no scheduling for them.

Wish there was a kid profile
I like the app, I paid for the subscription but it could be better. I wish they had an account for kids so they could keep track of how they are doing and keep them motivated. It’s easy to use just wish kids could use it too.
Helpful but UX need improvements
Good concept and colorful UI, but the UX design can be improved a lot, For example, 1. If you just add one child, only top 20% of screen is used in every page, remaining screen is empty and useless 2. If you add more goals, only two are visible at front, you need keep scrolling right to see the all goals while most of screen is empty
Great Tool! Wish the Pro Was More Affordable
I started using this app with my 4-year-old about three weeks ago and the change in behavior has changed drastically. I knew I needed to change tactics and also show something concrete in goal setting / accountability, and this was the perfect thing. I think the smartest thing is that thumbs down can subtract from goals just as much as thumbs up can - I really struggled before to provide incentives / promises for good behavior when bad behavior was also there, which created a lot of confusion in expectations. I really wish I could get the pro version but it’s not as affordable as I would hope it would be. Understandable if the developer needs to establish a certain price frame to keep things going. Maybe in the future I’d be able to get the pro, but I’m not able to at this time. Note: there was an app upgrade and the design is a lot simpler but I do miss the furry monster hands 😅

Been using for about a week. My kiddo really enjoys it and looks forward to getting thumbs up. And I’ve noticed more positive behaviorsI have one suggestion. I would like to be able to set daily goals and weekly goals separately and the daily goals to reset each day. Or have a way to reseat goals individually.
Good but can be way better
Great app however, there needs to be a way to have the kids track their ratings in their device. On the developer website this was noted as a feature to be added in 2020 but I don’t see any updates
Very Motivating for my 12 year old!
This app seems very promising for modifying some of our stubborn behaviors in my 12-year-old daughter. The choice of thumbs down sound irritates her, but not in a terrible way. It’s more of a silly sound, but she knows that her behavior needs to improve. Conversely, the thumbs up sound is playful and makes her feel good. The one important improvement I would like to suggest is a way to forward reports via email. If there was someway to send reports out to be shared with her therapist, it would be an invaluable tool in her behavior modification.
Shares ALL your data across devices
After trying the free version we decided to set up family cloud sharing. The app asked me to log in with my gmail on my partner’s (android) phone to set up family cloud. It then proceeded to replace her default email and notification settings with mine. She started receiving my emails and app notifications - and it took several tries to remove my info from her phone. We are both deleting the app and starting over with something else. Hugely disappointing.
Great but would love for kids to be able to view progress
It would be so awesome if for older kids, they had access to the reports and status without having full parent access to the app. I think seeing their progress can help keep them motivated and engaged.
Useful but new version still has bugs
I’ve been using this app for years, it’s been very helpful, but with the new version every time someone earns a reward it goes away and I can’t reset it, instead have to make a new goal every time instead of resetting the old goal. Please bring this back! Otherwise it’s too annoying to use.
