Great app
Any app that can help me find movies, books and podcast I love. Easy to use and love many of their suggestions. I do write reviews on many things on the site. Easy to use and it lays out the contents clearly. It also will tell you where you can find the movie/show streaming.
Crashes constantly
Really like the app, but I cannot use it for more than a second because it’s been constantly crashing and closing on me.
Started off great but there’s missteps
When I first got Likewise I was so excited that I could house all my media in one concise app. The user interface was straightforward and easy to navigate. However since then I’ve encountered some issues and concerns. New issues or editions of books will appear multiple times when searching for an individual title. Sometimes the app is laggy and the search function doesn’t load.
Not what it used to be
I would like the app developers to comment on what is going on. It seems like the what’s new sections haven’t been updated since February and the Trending sections aren’t very current either. I really used it to keep up with what not to miss and what’s new. I’m sad. I also don’t like how you can’t share your lists with friends so they can see what I am watching and vice versa. All I can really do now is keep lists. I used to use Likewise for: ✅ Tracking what you’ve watched ✅ Maintaining a Want to Watch list ✅ Getting recommendations ✅ Seeing what’s new on Netflix, BritBox, PBS, etc. ✅ Following friends’ activity ✅ Sharing watchlists And now, from your perspective it doesn’t have ❌ Up-to-date recommendations ❌ Current streaming updates ❌ Social watchlist sharing ❌ Following friends’ watch activity

Love this app! BUT It’s such a shame when apps suddenly remove features they offered before in order to make it a subscription. Used to like it better before. Also, there should be an option to delete asks altogether! not just ending them and they still come up in your profile.

Super slow and my lists aren’t loading

Fun but frustrating
I use this app mostly for keeping track of what I’ve watched/read. The ads that take up the entire screen while I’m in the middle of doing something is diabolical. The app also stops my music because it’s trying to play audio from trailers. Since I don’t use the app for much besides logging the media I’ve consumed, I can’t speak on anything else. I don’t remember there being such annoying ad placements when I downloaded this a couple years (?) ago. Thanks for considering.
I wish it wasn’t so glitchy and easier to navigate
Would be nice to have just the covers of the shows/tv without all the info to make it easier to see many at once. The search experience is super glitchy and sometimes the movie I am looking up doesn’t show up in the top results. Even if I use the exact name. The way to browse lists & movies is also pretty glitchy and hard to use. Tbh I’m sad bc I always wish there was an app like letterboxd but it also includes TV & this was promising but no :/

I am a recent user of this app. I haven’t had it for long, but I am enjoying it immensely already. There are so many great recommendations and features. It would be very helpful to have an age rating on the app, though. As a minor, there are some books (especially romances) that I choose not to read. If the app had an age rating on the book overview, I wouldn’t have to search every new romance find on common sense media. Again, love this app! Thanks!
They made it bad on purpose
I got this app very shortly after it came out. I actually think I signed up for it before it was fully an app. It worked great at that time because I needed space on my phone. I got rid of it. but then decided to re-download today with the expectation it would be the same as it was. Boy was, I disappointed! You can no longer search for recommendations other people have asked for and now our prompted to ask for your own recommendations, only to be told you have to pay for “more responses” It’s disappointing because this used to be a very functional database for users to find books that were like other books they liked. They clearly have updated their software to make the user experience, actively negative unless you pay money. Good thing there’s 100 other competitors out there. lol as if Goodreads and Reddit didn’t exist. It is disappointing to see a good app. Go bad though.

Used to be great—now it’s a mess
I used to love this app. It was fast, intuitive, and actually did what it promised. Unfortunately, the developers have taken it in a completely different direction—one that feels deliberately clunky and inefficient. The search function barely works now, and the overall experience has gotten worse over time. It allegedly feels like the decline was intentional to degrade the free version enough to push users toward their subscription model they have now introduced. Whether that’s the case or not, the end result is the same. What was once a genuinely helpful tool has now turned into a frustrating, watered-down version of itself. Really disappointing to see a good thing ruined like this.

It’s a great app with thoughtful features but there’s nothing fun or beyond groups and suggestions. It’s also too expensive for the minimum paid features it offers. It’s a good app but there’s something missing from it.

Bugs in app
App has way too many bugs. As a platform is very useful but the app keeps freezing and doesn’t fit the screen size properly.
I remember this app being better than it is.
I had likewise for maybe a month a few summers ago, and I thought it was everything. I had to delete it to free up storage but recently redownloaded it because I was in a reading kick and wanted new and personalized suggestions. However, what I have come back to is an utter disappointment. My main issue is the ‘for you’ page; it shows 4-8 suggestions a day, and is non-refreshable. Meanwhile, the other tabs like the ‘trending’ and ‘lists from the web’ are extremely lengthy. I would look to these pages for more suggestions, only I downloaded the app for the “personalized” aspect and that is just not what those pages are for. I think this app would benefit greatly from not only having a better system to recommend you content that actually relates to what you have listed in your ‘watched’ or ‘read’ lists, but also a refresh option on the ‘for you’ page.

Fantastic app!!! Just wondering…how many of the users on this app are actual people? I have like 200 followers or smtn and almost none of them have a picture or bio so I’m kinda sus lolol I’d love to connect to people with similar tastes in media but it feels like I’m the only certified human on the app sometimes😭🤣

What bothers me is the lack of control of my lists. I would like to be able to : - Change the watch date for my watched shows - Edit the order of my want to watch list These two changes would keep me from moving my lists elsewhere.

Garbage 2.0 the subscription model
2025 update: if I could give negative stars I would. They now have the audacity to try and charge you for suggestions from their hilariously bad algorithm. If you’re looking for book suggestions use MeetNewBooks. This app is just filled with advertisements and suggestions barely, if ever based on your feedback. If you want a thousand suggestions for romantasy books you didn’t ask for though, this app is absolutely for you.
Like but have a suggestion
I have been wanting an app that lets me document my tv shows and movies so i was very happy to find this! it’s like Goodreads but with tv shows! i just really wish it let me document my progress on tv shows! like what season and episode I’m on of each show! if there’s a way to make that change then i’d give it five stars!
Crashing
Recently I have not been able to open email links to the app or search anything in the app without it crashing. I enjoyed using the app for recommendations and keeping track of what I have read and watched but it’s getting difficult with the app continuing to crash
Bug Fix..
There is a bug where I leave a review.. and my review ends up in my comment section multiple times. I delete the comment and it comes back.
Love this app
This app is so fun. It’s awesome to connect with other people about movies, tv, & books. Making lists, getting suggestions, or even finding new things to watch or read has been so soothing & peaceful for me. It’s so easy to use, I absolutely love the format, the layout, & the features in this app.
Won’t stop emailing me
I was tired of the emails so I deleted my account a few years ago. They started emailing me again a few days ago which is really annoying.
Perfect App, Needs One More thing
Under My Lists, there is a “want to watch”, “now watching”, and “watched” categories. This app has been perfect for helping me keep track of things, the only thing that would make it even more perfect is if there was also a “waiting for next season” category.
I don’t like Goodreads but this isn’t rlly better in a lot of ways
The fyp to rec books is kinda lame it only gives you like a handful of recs before throwing sponsored and trending content at your face. Like I almost solely read epic fantasy and sci fi why r u recommending me so much Coleen Hoover? The search engine in the app is inaccurate at best, and the books clubs they offer are limited per genre. I would love it if there were more specific ones. The rating and reviewing part of the app is lovely. I love the different lists for my books (read, want to read, currently reading) All in all, mid. I still use it but it needs more features I think. Goodreads still is better, somehow.
Promising, but underwhelming
This app has so much promise and great for finding your next book or movie, but the book side needs some serious work. I like to review books in as many places as possible, but this app frequently syncs the wrong books to my list from Goodreads and no matter how many times I correct it, they sync wrong again. There is also no way to add new titles, so there are literally hundreds of books on my list missing.
An Amazing App!
This app is amazing and a regular source of excellent advice for podcasts, books and programs to stream. Thank you Likewise! I'm now the one sharing recommendations at parties instead of begging for any. Amy

Keeps freezing up when I try changing the username. The UI is horrible too, very messy. It was fine the way it was in the beginning.

I like it a lot to use and click quickly through and set up my entertainment and leisure time as simply as I can! And Likewise so far does that for me.
Fairly pointless
Could be interesting if you could search through asks. They used to have a feature that prevented people asking the same question twice but now they seem to encourage people asking the same question over and over again. Most books they recommend are just the booktok classics and they don’t take into account your nicher interests. Most questions they promote are ones that can be easily solved by google and their ai is lacklustre. Don’t waste your time.

I’m a creator on the app And there hasn’t been any way to customize communities or anything like that so it’s hard to keep the community going cause it just gets boring after awhile unfortunately

This app just takes you preferences and show you the same stuff regardless of what you have watched. I got the same For You page as other people with different preferences.

I love this app it’s amazing but today when I went to go onto it it said it had trouble authorizing my account, I have had this app for almost a year and have 355 books saved on it that I want to read and good thing 90% of those are saved on Amazon or I would have lost my whole tbr
"coincidental" notifications
i only get notifications from likewise when i'm on a decent video on tiktok abt issues w the gov & etc. how come? i used to only get notifs randomly when my phone was off & now it's only when my phone is on & i'm on tiktok. 👀
Sponsorships (ads) and AI are ruining likewise
I used to love this app so much. It helped me find new books based on my interests. I’ve since read and thoroughly enjoyed many of them. Before, I could open the app and swipe through like 10 customized book recs every day. Now, it’s at least half sponsored books that are nothing like my taste. The other half is either asking if I’ve read books I’ve saved previously or recommendations for different lists or conversations on the app. I might see 1-2 actual recs per day, but they’re getting less and less relevant to me. I work in digital marketing and advertising, so I get the purpose. But the paid sponsors are burying the value of the app. Similarly, their AI bot is the only thing you see when you try to use the ask/community feature. If likewise wants longevity, they need to prioritize the customer over sponsors.

I love LikeWise. Love the recommendations and how I can track what I am watching and what I would like to watch. Plus the community is very active. Giving it four stars because I would like to be able to pick what to watch through a picked streaming service. Similar to watch you can do in LikeWise TV. Overall, an amazing app.
