Data harvesting

Requires you to agree to a EULA where they can harvest your location data and personally identifying info for extremely intrusive ads that you cannot skip or remove.

Lovely but not optimized

Cute story, minimized ads. You only see small banner ad and a 5s ad to save progress. It’s chill and very refreshing compared to the average free smartphone games. Make sure to get all your characters lv 4(☀️but blue) in warrior, thief, and priest class for their 1.5x bonus that carries across class. Don’t bother filling the skill plate and only get the skills for the characters that will use them. I wish there was a better in-game explanation for how that worked, where the skill plates are (🌈☸️), and that you could UNDO a mis-assigned skill plate (say, before using it). All the same, it’s amazing to get this kind of game, made with love, free on mobile. Give it a shot

No way to be ad free

Game is good. Ads are a little overwhelming. I’d pay like $9.99 to be ad free, but there’s no option to be ad free anywhere so the ads can be a bit much

So good!

Fun story. Funny writing. Good play. Fun upgrade system. My only complaint is that some of the character arcs feel a little abbreviated. Could have spent more time seeing Melvin change his attitude and become brave.

Dialog Purgatory

I don’t think I’ve ever tapped the screen so much in my life to get through all the conversations. Literally 30 minutes of playing. I’ve been able to battle 2 things and the rest is MFing talking……..

Pretty good

The game itself is good I would like to see a better layout. There isn’t much of a tutorial about in game mechanics. But overall a very good pixel rpg. I appreciate that the developers only really hit you with an ad to save. That’s better than some games that just stop you mid play to show an ad.

Why do you need so much personal data?

The game was decent, but it appears with their latest updates they now need your location, among other data. I’ll be deleting this app as a result of this. Apps shouldn’t be collecting this data when it is irrelevant to the apps functionality.

Eh

This is fair as far as Final Fantasy knockoffs go, but the plate system doesn’t really make sense to me. I know there’s a tutorial, but I can never remember those things. I learn by playing the game, but this one isn’t very intuitive in some points. Then I bought a suit of armor, but then neither of my party members could use it. I gave up fairly early. Like others have said, the dialogue is a bit excessive. Maybe I’ll pick this game up again some time in the future.

Way Too Many Ads

At a certain point in the game all of sudden the ads pop up at a ridiculous rate, it gets insane and no I will not pay a penny. I am deleting it. You will hate all the ads too.

It's alright

Cliche JRPG story with nice gameplay. Overall its good enough to get that nostalgic RPG feel. If you have nothing better to play or do then this game is fun enough to kill some time with.

The dragon told ms to review

This games pretty fun. Its a nice old school turn based rpg, I think their growth plate concept is neat and they have some interesting mechanics that are really engaging. Only criticism i have is the lack of equips/items and a lack of loot. You usually end up just looting the same stuff over and over. While i get kemco pumps out rpgs faster than you can say silver dragon, some more unique growth plates and end game items wouldnt do harm.

Jon

It is good, but a skip button for cutscenes is greatly needed. The cutscenes are so slow that it makes it unbearable to sift through.

Nostalgia from the 90’s

Very nostalgic of the 90’s era of rpg’s. However, almost similar to EarthBound it does not fall into the classic Tolkien or high fantasy style of storytelling but is instead more comedic with breaking the third wall elements at times. In this sense it’s something comfortingly familiar from the past while also providing something new. I am enjoying it 4 hours in thus far.

— MouseDefender81

A game full of just words

Honestly I got bored within ten minutes. I love old retro games but not when the dialogue is full is just run on useless conversations and not one peace of joy within the game yet. Some people enjoy the stories that last an hour at the start but I’ll pass.

— kingleo9911

★★★★☆ United States · v1.1.5 · 5 Nov 2025

It’s a fun old school turn-based RPG with a few modern improvements thrown in.

The only complaint I have are the menus, whether it’s items or spending EP on class advancement, the menus are a multi-layered, poorly designed and engineered mess with terrible markings and indicators, particularly for a button oriented touch screen interface. Other than that, the game has been great. Seriously, it’s hard to tell what character I’m on or what their current class and level are. I have to go look at other screens then switch back to know if I’m adding the right class to the right character. If there’s an easier way, it’s not intuitive and wasn’t part of the in game instructions.

Game doesn’t work

For starters, this game is a great concept stolen from Dragon Warrior, which I a great start. Where it fails is when it takes up 3 whole minutes of inescapable moment to request you write a review for them, giving you no reward and giving you no chance to make the characters shut up about it. THE WORST PLUG EVER MADE BY GAME DEVS. Secondly, once you get to the pirate town, the game bugs out and won’t let you continue the quest line even after you talk to everyone you can and should be required for the quest. Game should and will be aborted soon.
