does it’s job, but barely
I’d like to start off by saying that the app isn’t COMPLETELY unusable, however, it really pushes it. Firstly, timetables constantly disappear and reappear. Secondly, tasks rarely seem to format properly and often end up being cut off and having tiny text. Thirdly, many features that are present on the website just simply don’t exist on the app. I could list more, but this review is getting long enough.
Work doesn’t go away for weeks
I have tried marking my task as done several times but it never works. I want to move away from the app because it is so pathetic. If an update doesn’t come out solving this issue, all people should delete this app and use Microsoft teams

This app is great it helps make finding my tasks,messages and all my other things so much easier to access.Furthermore it is easier instead of having to go through the website I can just click onto the app and I am straight their I love this app

Firefly saved my life
When I started school as a young boy I was naive in nature and didn’t think that me skipping my maths homework would end my life. But firefly was an eye opener it showed me the way even more so than my father. It showed me life was worth living because I gained the discipline needed to work at McDonald’s. It punished me by saying tasks overdue in red and made realise the true consequences of not doing my homework. I now see the light it’s trying to help me become the best version of me, to continue on my fruitful path. One complaint I do have is firefly is not strict enough because there is no physical punishment. I would really rate this 5 stars if they added some physical punishment.
It’s too slow
My homework doesn’t load all the time and then I miss deadlines and get a detention. It’s ok I guess apart from that but it can be really slow

It’s helpful but sometimes some tasks don’t load or when i mark them as complete they keep on coming back. Decent but could be a lot better

Whhy is it so slowww
So far I have had this app for half a hour it is still going through the endless loop of connecting to my school which is frankly ridiculous 🤦🙄😫 luckily I know i have nothing due tomorow by using the much faster online app this is torture and i haven’t even got into the actual app yet 😩😫😖😣

Great but doesn’t always stay that way
Is useful to know what homework to do on the go and mark them done but the app can sometimes glitch and say that all your tasks are overdue. Pretty good in the long run though. :)
Good website. Rubbish app.
Firefly in general is quite good. The app is awful. It takes a long time just to load a timetable (I sometimes have to switch the day I’m looking at and go back just to make it load), doesn’t show resources, takes a long time to load tasks and other information and, I have just had to reinstall on my iPad because the app reset itself every second or so. To reiterate, the website and service in general is great. The app should basically be re-written from scratch.
Good or….
At first firefly was great. It was a great way to keep track of homework and to check my lessons. But when i click on the homework i want to check. i can’t see what it is, its just blank. I’m not sure if this what is supposed to happen, but it is very hard to check homework when i don’t have my laptop or anything else to check it with.

Firefly is a good app but when you mark something done it doesn’t go through to all the devices your logged in to just try a one you are on and the parents firefly takes a few days to update the homework

Used it for 5 years now. A lot of lags, and I got always 12 notifications as unread, even thought it is all read. Getting better, but slowly.

it always says i have 7 tasks and when i check my tasks it says i have none despite me knowing i do in fact have tasks. i’ve gotten multiple missed hw detention due to this and it’s really frustrating. on top of this it always takes ages to load and always glitches when i try to look at my hw. i always end up resorting to using my laptop to go on the website (that actually works) but it’s really inconvenient when i don’t have access to a laptop. it’s a waste of my phone storage.

Inconsistent — but it works
This piece of software works around 80% of the time perfectly; it allows me to check my work tasks, schedule and deadlines on the go. The main shortcoming is that sometimes the app is unable to connect to the server, even with a perfect WiFi connection. This issue is quite unpredictable; and can happen regularly for a full day, without any sign or action able to prevent it. This means that on occasion, you cannot “complete” tasks, or add new tasks. Also, another shortcoming is the notifications; sometimes a “done” task from many months ago can suddenly turn unread, forcing you to scroll all the way through your “done” tasks to read it, if you don’t want the annoying red number icon to appear on the app image icon on your screen.
Why
Constantly crashes, is buggier than a bag of beetles. Keeps bringing back up tasks that you’ve already done. Thanks a lot, Firefly. I would rather choke on a tuna salad baguette than suffer through this broken mess of an app - heck, death is preferable. I hope your proud of yourself devs. Wah

What is functionality?
This app could have been a great organisational solution for schools to coordinate between students, teachers, administrators, and parents. Where other competitors have managed to integrate communication and more, firefly has become a nonfunctional mess of bugs, that occasionally works until the development team come up with another app breaking feature. At least 5 years ago I could view my timetable and tasks on it; I even gave it a good rating of 4/5. Now the timetable is permanently stuck between days thanks to the new sliding animation, the tasks never load, and documents will not open. It’s at the point where I straight up don’t bother to check my tasks most of the time due to the sheer difficulty of it, which is problematic for my teachers when I miss homework and recommendations.

Just so bad if it was possible it would get zero stars, it should be removed from all schools. Inconsistent and only updates from time to time constantly leaving parents thinking their kids have not done their work. For kids, work that will not open or opens only part of the information leaving them frustrated and upset they cannot do their work. Someone pls ban this terrible business from making money for our kids!

I personally dont like the layout of the app. It needs updates, second sometimes the tasks set are a week behind so I have to reinstall please try and fix this.
