Firewall for PSTN/SMS
Having tried seemingly every other app and service out there in what had been an arduous process of trying to eliminate spam/scam calls & messages, I finally found this app. I could not recommend it more highly. It works in a similar manner to deny rules on a firewall. Want to block all numbers from area code 888, or just calls from numbers that start with 888-555, or whatever- it’s that simple. If you notice, the spammers/scammers tend to originate calls from a handful of area codes/prefixes. Add them to the list and you’ll never hear from that number again. If they move to a new area code, simple to add. I blocked a total of 8 area codes and went from 8-10 daily annoyances calls to zero in months.
Terrible App waste of $5
UPDATE: I stand by my review. A user input should not cause the app to stop working. —- I accidentally added my area code as the country code, and now app is broken. I even deleted app and redownloaded but still there. So many bugs for $5 app. Should be free and then still probably should skip because of the hassle. Takes forever to add any rule, like 10 minutes or more. Terrible inefficient app. Maybe he should use AI to write better code!

Speicherplatz komplett voll
Die App hat meinen ganzen iPhone Speicher voll geschrieben. Systemdaten waren auf einmal 200GB groß. Nur ein Reset konnte den Speicher leeren.
Not quite a blocker but silencer
They advertise blocking but blocking a number means when they call you they will get a user is unavailable error. Real blocks cannot get to voicemail. All this app does is silence calls that are in your rules. So you will still get daily voicemails and recent calls, but it does make it not quite as annoying. I’d call it a mass silencer though not blocker.
Blocking calls from area Code 870
Call Tanger was recommended by chathpt to block scam calls from an area code , I tried and the App to block calls from 870 area codes not working.., Updated my rating from 1 star to 6stars Customer service were amazing and very helpful and supportive , didn’t give up on solving my problems , 3 weeks at least 2 dozen calls from area code 870 . Finally, customer service got it to work . No for last 3 days 0 calls . What a feeling. Thank you

doesn’t really do as advertised
doesn’t actually block numbers. apparently no apps in the app store currently can really block apps, but there are others that can at least get rid of all the spam voicemails. save your $5, i wasted mine on what feels like the equivalent of those old flashlight apps that were just a white screen
Update deleted my blocking list
Big oops…. A recent update killed my blocking list. When I went to add a newvnumber I found my list disappeared completely and I had created a list of just one number. Not happy grr. ?
Work as advertised
Blocked mass calls from geographic location with spoofed, random numbers following zip/area code. One time fee is worth it.

Buyer Beware
I read your response and to be quite honest, your response was so scripted. You obviously didn’t read correctly. I had done all that remove from backup disabled etc. also, doing any of that doesn’t reclaim your space back. You started to tell how to reclaim space but then go on a tangent and discuss removing backup and disable app. Yeah you go ahead and try that and then come back and educate us. As stated, no backup, no app, run overnight maintenance and even double checked nothing in messenger relating to call ranger . System data still 52gb. I reinstall call ranger , no backup turned on yet, POOF! My rules are back. Explain. As for using in app support? What a novel idea. Done that a few times nothing but crickets. I use email that one of you responded with, nothing but crickets. And yeah nothing in junk mail either. Don’t get me wrong, the product idea is sound if worked properly. System Data is now 53gb!!! Folks, you need to understand that when you add a range of numbers to Call Ranger, it eats up more and more of your system data area. Eventually you will need to do a FULL RESET of your phone in order to reclaim that space back. It’s not any fun doing that believe me. You folks at Call Ranger should pay me for my time trying to fix your buggy app. It’s been like groundhog day. You can’t even remove this app’s hooks into IOS. Delete rules, repair, reload app, POOF! Rules are back. Delete rules, Delete app, make sure nothing is backed up. Delete backup, create backup, Reboot, night maintenance, road app, POOF! Rules are back. Are you kidding me? WTF are you people hiding these rules? So now a week into not hearing from any support. I standby my first comments. You only respond when someone has something nice to say but anyone with criticism or problems you conveniently mute up. Lack of any support. WARNING! This app will eat up most if not all of your system data partition. The only way to recover that space per Apple is to do a full reset of your iphone. Running iPhone 16 on IOS 26.5 . I was running IOS 18.7 and didn’t want to upgrade IOS but eventually updated. It’s only now I found the culprit Call Ranger. Wish I had known prior

Never thought there would be a way to stop spam callers. I was at my wits end so I tried Call Ranger. Bam! Peace on my phone! Very customizable and easy to set up for a non techie. The price was a bargain considering what it accomplished.
No, you do not get to collect my text messages
This app should warn you that to enable "Call Ranger" to filter your messages, you have to allow the developer to “receive the text, attachments, and sender information in text messages from senders not in your Contacts. Messages may include personal or sensitive information like bank verification codes.” This makes me uncomfortable. All I wanted to do is set up pattern recognition and block those numbers. I don’t want you screening my messages. Who is installing this app and allowing this? I should’ve know better than to buy an app with less than 150 reviews.

Large iPhone Storage/Memory Requirements
I purchased this hoping to block multiple area codes (833, 844, etc.). Was only able to set up one rule and it took up a great amount of iPhone storage. Uninstalled.
Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t
One of a few examples but I have 1833XXXXXXX blocked and I still get spam from this area code. Not sure why this happens. Sometimes it actually works 🤷🏼♂️

I’ve not only blocked individual numbers but entire countries! No more calls from Vietnam or Russia! Hurrah!
Doesn’t help much with voicemail
I got this in hopes to block out entire area code ranges which it will do well. However my built in iPhone block anyone not in contacts does that well already. My problem is they leave 14 voicemails per day and it doesn’t block them from voicemail. So I spent $4 and am still in the same boat.

I just bought it, and when i try to add a blocked number, it takes a full minutes to process. That doesn’t make sense! iPhone 13…

Does not block area codes
This is such a waste of money. You have to block each number individually. It shows that you should be able to block 858XXXXXXX but does not work
Easy and effective
I was getting lots of spam calls from numbers with the same first 3 digits of my own, and it took seconds to set up a rule that blocked them all. My incoming calls are peaceful again! The only problem is that my husband’s number was also in that range, and it was blocked for calls and FaceTime even though “allow calls from my contact list” was turned on and he was certainly in my contacts list.

It's kind of a pain to figure out how to use, but it works. I used to get DOZENS of calls a day from a state I don't even live in. Now, none.
Waste of money
This app has proven to be an ineffective investment. I acquired this app in response to receiving an excessive volume of spam calls daily. Unfortunately, despite specifying numerous numbers for blocking, those calls continue to come through. I strongly advise against making this purchase.
Love the area code blocker
This was the only app I could find that allowed me to block entire area codes. I was getting calls from foreign countries that rang once and hung up. They would call over and over again at all times of the day or night. This app silenced them finally. Thank you so much!!!

Does not compute 9 number range.
If you need to block a a range with 10 Numbers for example 44 7XXX XXX XXX. It will bot compute the 9 X Numbers. It will work with 8 though

Does Not Block Text Messages
Specifically bought to block all 202 area code text. Reached out to support after it still wasn’t blocking text. Was told the app does not work for blocking text. What a waist of money. My provider already blocks calls. Defeated the purpose of purchasing these app and I immediately deleted.

The app only calculates ranges with a maximum of 8 digits. The app does not calculate anything from 9 digits onwards. Unfortunately, most telephone numbers in Germany are 11 digits long without the country code. therefore you cannot use your app meaningfully here.

Doesn’t work
Sadly this app doesn’t work. When I initially installed it I was able to successfully enable a ten digit block on a single country, but all other attempts resulted in app errors. The developer was very engaging, but after several weeks has not resolved the issue. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app and now nothing works. Too bad. This is a great concept for an app.
