Great app
This is a great app for someone navigating gout. Saves searching the internet- all the information you need in one easy place. Developers are very responsive
OxiPur review for oxalate
This is a paid subscription if you want to use the oxalates feature. Other than that, it’s just a food diary. I cannot say that I would recommend this App. Please do your own research as you will get better results.
Save your money!
Disappointed – wish I could get my $10 back I really wanted to love this app, but unfortunately, it just didn’t deliver. I started checking some of the numbers, and right away I noticed that it told me 30g or even 100g of tofu had over 200 oxalates – which I fact-checked and found just isn’t accurate. That made me dig a little deeper, and honestly, about half the entries didn’t seem right either. It breaks my heart to say it, because I know how much work goes into building something like this, but I’d honestly recommend saving your money for now. I hope the developers take this as kind feedback and update the data, because the idea has so much potential!
Great go to reference!
I use this often when I need to find some information that’s not on labeled packages. We’re just on raw ingredients. I really enjoy the coverage for both oxalate diets and pre-diabetes management. A great tool. Have not yet used for recipes or tracking. I am interested in the pro version but did not see pricing.
Grams?
I was excited to use the app but all the items are in “grams”. This is a huge amount. I’ve been told by various doctors you measure by milligrams and that for a low Oxalate diet that would be only 50-60mg per day.
Hilfreich
Quality very high
The data in this app is very useful. Of course if under medical care it is always wise to coordinate with your care provider. This review is not medical advice.
Stealing
This app is stealing money. You get the free version and then they take money from your account without authorization!!!
Lacking food data
I paid for the Oxalate program based on reviews I had read. I knew the weight measurements would be off based on the reviews. It’s not super user friendly with the measurements. The most disappointing thing about the app is the lack of food options listed. Given the amount of data out there with the most basic free apps, this one is missing many things that are common. It could be because it’s a US thing, I’m not sure, but I feel like some basic foods that are good for a low oxalate diet, should be there. For example, there’s yogurt, only like one option and doesn’t match what’s available in stores. Also i feel things like Ceasar salad or even just ranch dressing, should be part of the app as basics. It’s just missing too much to really be helpful. I do like the layout, I like the options to focus the diet & information breakdown. But it doesn’t feel like it covers what they intend to cover as an app for this type of specific information
Could be very useful
This could be a great app. I’ve found it useful for keeping track of daily oxalate count. BUT, I’ve also found that it conflicts quite often with the Harvard Study, which has long been the gold standard relative to oxalates in food. The other thing that is really maddening is that the only units available are ounces, or grams. It would really be helpful if the unit choices included things like fluid ounces and cups. Many foods are listed relative to the quantities, not weight, but this app requires the conversion to properly determine oxalate values. It’s really not that convenient to use, but proves more comprehensive information (though some of it appears to be incorrect) than any other source. I would like to know the sources for some of the information.
Saved Me
This app has literally change my way of life. Please keep adding foods. Your team has had a positive change in someone’s life out there.
Terrible ap
This app is extremely hard to use. It does not have a very good food list and it doesn’t actually give you an easy way to look at the ox
Best in class for Purine tracking
Good database with purine tracking. User interface is not as easy as other nutritional tracking / dairy apps and there are not a lot of pre-entered meals, but gets the job done.
So leider relativ nutzlos :-/
Nice APP
This APP has been a great help to me in dealing with the gout issues
Worthless now
I used this app extensively and it was ok. Now you cannot even look at any data without paying….👎🏼
Convenient and Correct
I have this convenient app on my phone so I can check foods when I’m grocery shopping or eating out. An improvement I’d like to see: After entering the category (eg. Fruits), there’s a list of foods in the category. If the background colour of each food would indicate high, low, or moderate, it would be easier to have a Quick Look.
What a gem!
I use this app and upgraded to premium to really support these guys, the free version is very generous already. I use this app to track oxalate in my diet to manage kidney stones. Highly recommended!
Trying to monitor PURINES
App is advertised as a Gout Diet aide, which I guess is true but additional info on PURINES, etc is ONLY available if you sign up for the PRO version of this app... aka $PAY$ for that content🚫 NOT free as implied.🤨 I'm deleting the app after this review‼️
Dorschfilet und Remoulade fehlen ansonsten absolut super 👍
VG Robert
Informational
This app provides much useful information but what I would like to see is the serving sizes by number not by total grams or ounces. I find I have to calculate for the serving size or physically have to weigh. For example, I would like to readily know how many blueberries make up a portion (even if approximate) rather than take the gram or ounce amount for 1 piece of fruit and have divide it into the total gram or ounce size per portion to find out how many pieces of fruit make a portion.
Helpful but confusing
This app is helpful but still confusing. Wish it could give me a total for my day. Wish it had recipes.
Apprecitive
Easy to use and informative
Certainly is not user-friendly sorry, I will delete.
Misleading
Gute App
Useless app
Saying every food is moderate is just not helpful or correct.
Adequate, Helpful
I downloaded for gout health. I’m new. Initial reaction is that the app needs some how-to instructions: on what the various colors mean and explanation on what to make of the percentages indicated. I also wish I could search for common branded processed foods and get a quick yay or nay on them (eg, Snickers bar, Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup, Cracklin Oat Bran Cereal, etc). You maybe couldn’t include all brands of all food but there must be a finite 250 or so processed foods that are common in American diets.
Pro (Paid) Versions Worth The Info
I bought this today and quickly saw that the app organizes the foods and classifies their effects on gout (uric acid) & kidney stones (oxalates) very clearly. If you suffer from these like me, you will want to pay to enable the Pro versions, which gives you the detailed impacts of the foods. You can open the gout pro and/or kidney stone pro levels separately, each for ~$10. I bought both since I suffer from both occasionally. I found $20 a small price to pay for having such a valuable resource at my fingertips in my pocket! You might feel differently, but the developer definitely did the homework for us - no more google searches for good & bad foods! 😁
Hate
I hate this app and wish i could have tried it out before paying for it. What a waste of money. Most foods i eat are not an option to add and even paying for “pro” you can not customize
New user
I had my first gout flare up on holiday and was not able to get a doctor to look at the problem and at home the appointment is three weeks away, downloaded this app and things have improved a lot. Only four stars as some of the things in the app are not clear, like swiping across the screen there are three views that seem to be the same but maybe two views are green and one red? Good clear advice where needed like don’t drink beer, sad but has helped me reduce the pain to just intolerable. I bought the pro option immediately as the benefit far outweighs the small cost.
Great but you could just get a list
I purchased this to see how much oxalate foods have. Works fine but doesn’t keep tract of how much oxalate you eat in a day. Just get a list.
It’s ok
It’s ok for helping me stay on track but it’s missing quite a few items making it difficult for me to figure out if it’s something I can have or not. Would be good to incorporate dressings, granola bars and things like that.
Love this app!
It is so convenient, this app has helped me so much, I would recommend this to anyone that has gout!
Don't waste your time
Doesn't give you any numbers as to the oxalates. Better to go to Facebook and get one of the spreadsheets from the group there.
Great app
Great app, simple, up to date, deserve improvement on the ux/ergonomic side
Puts bad foods as moderate reduction
This app, while color coded nicely, puts high oxalate foods (i.e. spinach & potatoes) as moderate oxalate reduction foods. It does have them coded “red” though I’m still unsure what that means if they are listed incorrectly. App needs some serious work if it is to be used as a serious tool for medical use.
Da fehlt noch was...
I’m impressed
Coming from an iOS developer, the app is fantastic. Easy to use, nice layout, with tons of info and features. Nice job!
Useless unless you have pen and paper this is useless
First, unless you pay for pro, you’re just guestimating the number of oxalates in s food based on the green, yellow, red color code. You need to buy the program to get the exact number in a food, but you can’t most stone producers want to plan or record foods for the dat to stay within a range. So, without paper and pencil, I can’t keep a running total. Adding an item to a shopping list is useless.
Totals
I love this app! However, I do wish that there was a way to add up everything being ingested for the day. It would be more convenient to keep track that way! It’s the only thing keeping my from giving it 5 stars. It’s a great accessory to have.
Sehr sehr dürftig !
Wahllose Aneinanderreihung von Werten, ohne Gewichtung. Nichts Neues, was es nicht in anderen kostenlosen Informationen bereits gibt.
