Great App for following up on kids schooling I’ve been using it for a year now , takes a bit of time to get used to (not 100% user friendly) , but once you do it becomes pretty straight forward. 4 Stars because there are always room for improvement.
Crashes a lot
This app constantly crashes. It freezes when attempting to scroll in a class to check grades/assignments due. It then kicks you out. I have to wait 30 seconds before getting back in to try to look in another class.
Keeps freezing
When I scroll through my kids grades in a particular class it freezes and I have to leave the app and come back in. I still cannot get past a certain point and it freezes again. This does not allow me to see my child’s grades on individual assignments.

Would love some teacher education on consistency - due dates not set dates and clear instructions : can use me Oatley as an example of how to do it really really well!
It’s ok when it works.
Good idea just crashes every time I’m trying to look at my kids assignments. So I’m constantly closing and opening the app to see what they are missing. Notifications would be nice too so I don’t have to go into the app so much.
Locks up
The app has been constantly locking up when I try to scroll through the classes. Please fix!
It WAS working great...until they updated the app 😭
I can no longer log in for the parent since the update. They changed log in from email and password to id number and password. If i do this it becomes invalid and if i enter my son’s info it appears he is the one logging in as a parent! PLEASE FIX! 🥺

After I scroll it just freezes. Useless.

When trying to look at my students grades the app keeps freezing. I have to close and reload and it still happens. Happening on the student app too. I contacted support through the app and have heard nothing.

Unable to scroll down on the page. As soon as you try it freezes the entire app. Not useful.

Locks up when scrolling course assignments, have to force close and will repeatedly do this in the same spot everytime!
Ok for most part
Works for the most part. I’m still new to using it so maybe I’m still learning but seems pretty straightforward but it’s freezes up when I go in to look at the assignments and I can’t see all of them so I don’t know what is going on. I will back out and try to reopen it and it keeps freezing in the same spot.

Screen freezes
Every time you click on the course/class and scroll down, the screen freezes or crashes. Every. Time.

How am I supposed to use the app when any scrolling I do freezes the screen!! Your software engineers are a joke to let it go this long!

While I’m scrolling my sons assignments it freezes more than 50% of the time. I have to close the app and reopen it. Super frustrating.
I hate this app
This app is the worst. It freezes every time I try to scroll down the assignments to check grades. My kid said it does the same on the student app. Huge waste of time. Also hard to navigate.
Screen Freezing
Have had many issues over the past couple months when trying to access grades. Screen will scroll briefly but then freeze. Happens repeatedly. Tried updating and forced close of app. Does not happen for student or teacher canvas apps.

Worked well, then suddenly stopped
The app worked well when I first installed it. Now, after 4 months, it suddenly stopped working and gets stuck loading. I deleted and uninstalled it multiple times, and reinstalled to no avail. Not sure what’s going on but now I can’t monitor my kids’ class schedules and it’s frustrating to not be able to do so.
Freezes every time
I cannot see my sons assignments and his grades for assignments. Every time I scroll down it freezes. It’s very frustrating as a parent this is the only way I can monitor his grades and assignments and I don’t have that access now. Please fix this! I have deleted and reinstalled the app and it still freezes.

I can log in and see course grade, but when I look at assignments, as soon as I scroll down, the app freezes, and I have to close it and reopen, but it freezes again when I go into assignments. Apps aren’t perfect, but the one star is also because when I click on app support, it lands on a 404.

Great idea. Calender view keeps randomly hanging and eventually crashing app on iOS. Also need filter view to filter out some entries like “Scheduled Class events” etc

The app constantly freezes a s crashes while scrolling through assignments/grades. I’ve updated the app multiple times for the last 3 months but nothing will fix it.
Used to be a useful app. Now it is unusable.
For over a month now, the app freezes in the first few seconds of use. A force close and restart is the only way to get it responsive again. I’m lucky if I can click into a class and see grades before it locks up.
Why can’t I see comments on my child’s work?
I love the simplified view of Canvas on this app but a huge oversight is not having teacher comments appear on my child’s submissions. As a parent I am a lot more interested in the teacher feedback through comments and rubrics that help to progress my child’s learning than I am in the overall mark.
