Even with free cards can’t recommend.
I’m going straight to the point if your not going to spend money on this game do not even play it. Even with 50 free card packs that’s right 50 packs it never feels like you can build anything worth really playing! I’ve used guides and played several different times on separate devices and I am being sincere IF YOU DON’T PAY YOU CAN’T PLAY, the alternative is an incredibly long slog to get what you need just to be good enough to play against other people that do. Just warning you.
Perfect! Except One Thing…
The card game itself is amazing. I almost quit Yugioh over this. But, the problem sprouts from the fact I have more than one account. Each account has different decks, so if I want to play a certain deck I may need to switch accounts, but if you make too many attempts to switch accounts, it blocks that feature for a full hour, which is something Master Duel from Yugioh doesn’t do. I get why they did this, to stop people from logging into accounts that aren’t theirs, but I don’t see why making successful switches blocks you too. If they changed this, the game would literally be perfect.

Not fun and to fast paced now
Played this game a few years back when it was fun. Came back and not fun at all. Even with some experience playing these type of games before, it's so fast paced now and very unfriendly to new players, there are just so many unexpected ways to lose. The daily missions don't even give rupees anymore which was how you were able to farm packs before. Game is not free to play friendly anymore. Seems like the game went downhill compared to when i 1st played it. Also, takes 15-20 minutes to get a match. Looks like the game is dead now.

Art quality has gone down. Gameplay getting stale.
Update 3-22-23 The quality of the artwork has seriously gone down. When the game first started there was beautiful artistic fantasy art with the likes of Zeus, Lucifer, Daria, Bahamut to name a few. The last 3 expansions the art looks like cartoon quality, sketchy, cheap quality to it. Even the legendary cards look like bronze art now. Its a shame. They should mix in new artists to add new life into the game. Instead they repeat the same look, same voices, same art recycled over and over again. It is getting stale. Also they censor your opinions on their reddit forum, so you cant share your real game exp there. Lastly, The card draws are rigged when climbing the ladder. You will notice as you play in arena your opponent will always have the right counter card and a perfect play curve while your draws will be either high cost cards early on or poor counter cards even though you have good counters in your deck you simply wont draw them on a curve. Also the turn right before you make your winning move your opponent will pull the exact card they need to beat you to it. Been playing fora year, happens repeatedly and too often to be random.
Unbalanced and everyone use same decks
Fun game , lot potential but some decks are overly used…. Definitely the spell deck taking turn after turn … need to limited to one

A GOOD ENTRY AND MAINSTAY FOR CARD GAME ENTHUSIASTS/PEOPLE WHO ARE INTERESTED IN GETTING INTO CARD GAMES Has good balance with how the meta is. Different playstyles for anyone who dives in. Great overall story, with lots of easy ways to make currency. Art style is amazing with voice acting to boot!! Definitely a game that has surpassed the timespan of most mobile games Anyone before me who left a review, giving it a 1 ⭐️, are people who either had the impatience to let the entire game download or are unwilling to read the text in front of them to figure out why “said problem” is happening

This game is for people who like to use their head and create stuff based on their own whims, I will admit there is a learning curve , but the same can be said for most games. It’s a fun game you can always hop back on and enjoy , not as sweaty as Yugioh so it’s also a nice change of pace.
Game Center link termination
If anyone took a break from this game and was not playing during the last year or so, and got a new device within that time, say goodbye to your in app purchases and progress. With no User ID saved or a link code from playing before 2017, you are straight out of luck because the Shadowverse team will tell you that they cannot confirm that you are the owner of the account. Even with proof of purchases provided, I was still not able to get my account recovered. Unfortunately I will probably never come back to this game unless that account can be recovered.
Getting silly
I played a long time ago and invested a lot into nice cards and decks (those cards are long lost because years ago the devs wouldn’t/couldn’t let me re-access my now-lost account). I just redownloaded to get back into it and my old school ways are not much of a match against the new sets. The new cards are too powerful and it’s not fun watching the ai opponent do 50 things in one turn. The game is turning ridiculous. By the way, i’ll never get over the cards/decks that I lost a long time ago.
Great game!
To be honest, I first got here from the Shadowverse anime like some recent ones, but definitely did not disappoint! There are a lot of cards and the starter gifts are very generous, allowing 10 card pulls for each existing set+more! The mechanics of each class is very unique and interesting, plus for rotation the deck always changes so you don't really get bored. And next, the story is really good! I highly recommend this game! (Do the first chapter first so u can experiment with all the card classes and find the one you like!) -Forestcraft player, out!
TOS and Support IS HORRIBLE
To get started, as a long time supporter of this game I’m highly disappointed. Where do I even start? In the TOS, usually I skim through and check it off. Nah don’t do that for this game, since one of the TOS policies state that the account that’s set up by the user doesn’t belong to the user. It belongs to the game and that the account is just a way the user can access the game. WHICH IS RIDICULOUS. For two when you’re someone like me who has lost an old account and wonder if they can recover it. They require you delete your current one in order for them to start their “investigation” to find your old account. The catch? If they can’t verify that you’re the owner of said account they won’t be able to recover your game data. So not only do you not get your old account back but now the current one you deleted for them to start searching for your old one is now gone too. Not to mention that if you’re someone like me who doesn’t have much detail to give them when searching for said old account it’s even more frightening to hear such a careless policy. DO NOT BY ANY MEANS GET THIS GAME

EZ, just pick portalcraft, runecraft , buy packs, and boom you beat everyone else in the game regardless of time spent. sad. the balancing is garbage, and everyone copies the top decks so theres no effort or originality to decks, unless u want to either spend alot of money on the legendary cards, or get stomped. dont download save yourself the hassle
The Deal Breaker Of This App……
The Cons= The Biggest Problem that I have with this game is the single or solo mode. As I feel it’s not a true Solo Mode as I personally found it to be the Tutorial Stages, and the only other mode for Solo is the Practice Mode. Which was not what I was looking for, as I was hoping that the Solo Mode would consist of classic solo matches where I could take my custom deck and battle the infinite in game Bots. And I found it kind of weird maybe it’s because I only had the App for only a short time. But from what I understand it unless you purchase an item or cards from the Shop, there is no other way for you to earn any more in game currency. And if that is the case I wished it was more like Yu Gi Oh Dual Links where you could earn the in game currency in that game through various other means. I think those are the only issues I have with Shadowverse? There could be more but again haven’t had the App long enough to find out. The Pros= However the Good news is I found that the core game play was really easy and fun to learn. The in game animations are not bad in my opinion. And what I loved best is the Beyond Gorgeous Cut Scene animations and story, as I found it has this Anime feel and look to them. And unless I’m Forgetting anything else that should do it for now. Final Thoughts= It’s really too bad as I really want to like this Game. I really did but sadly the lack of a proper Solo Mode was really the Braking Point for me. So much so I was not only hoping but also imagining having this App for a long time to come.

After returning to check out the game. I am very disappointed. They stopped giving a decent starter pack. Which hurts the new player bad. They are forcing you to pay to play which shouldn’t be like that. I’m deleting the game and I suggest no one download the game.

Fun/Unbalanced
I’ve been playing this game for about 2 or more years. Games very fun and Honestly my favorite card based battle game. Great art and visually appealing. The only problem I have with the game is how unbalanced it can get with like 3 move defeat, how every match is bloodcraft, and the same deck. But none or less game is fun when you learn how to play it or you get a good deck yourself.
No goblins
I loved this game when I was smaller, but all I wanted to do was make a viable goblin deck. Now I redownload the game years later to do just that and to find that: “Nope can’t do it” I’ve no real motivation to play this anymore
I would honestly play this however...

Game keeps crashing after darkness over vellsar expansions update
I’ve been this game roughly 2 years now but, with the recent release of the vellsar expansion, the game keeps crashing during the middle of matches. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.
Unfairly balanced & overpowered cards
This game could be fun but difficult to actually enjoy! Game is unfairly balanced for computer to always win. No matter what, computer magically get the exact cards needed to boost health back to 20 after you’ve whittled them down then beat you while you can’t even draw any of your hood cards. It’s definitely not a coincidence! Cards are overpowered and gets boring because EVERY “player” uses the exact same card combo strategy. You can’t actually enjoy playing a deck you put together because of this. Spending money is a waste, you don’t get any good cards! Save your money. Liquifying cards is a joke! It takes forever because you can’t bulk liquify when cards have a thousand duplicate s. It’s the only way to get the cheat cards to barely give yourself a fair chance. You’ll lose 30 times in a row before you win 2 or 4 matches. Game is seriously tilted in favor of the computer, it’s no fun. I hate it. I REALLY want to like this game but just get used to losing a bunch of times and I’m the exact same “strategy” from the computer, I mean other “players”.
Why the hate?
Before this starts I’m a f2p player, so keep that in mind. I don’t get why everyone is hating on this game. People say it’s unbalanced and sure I agree. However, it’s very easy to win even if it’s unbalanced or you go against a hard counter. Now you might be reading this thinking, this guys an idiot it’s not easy at all. But let me tell you about a secret thing called YouTube and the tournament winning deck option. These are both great options for deck building and with these decks I guarantee (As someone who owns a tournament winning deck) you’ll win a lot more often. Now some people reading are looking at other reviews maybe making their own and yelling about how it costs too many of those red vials. But there’s an option in cards called liquefy. Here’s how to get a good deck as an f2p. Step 1: Open your free 10 packs on all the pack options. Step 2: Make a deck from those packs of your choice. Step 3: When you choose who you’ll make a deck with, liquefy every single card that is not of that class excluding neutral cards. Step 4: Beat all the ai’s in single play practice match in elite 1,2, and 3. The last one has no elite 3 so just elite 1 and 2 for him. Step 5: Collect the achievements for around 5k gold. Step 6: Use all the gold on the latest pack. Step 7: do the same thing you did in Step 3. At this point you should have enough, if you don’t move on to the next step. Step 8: Complete all the chapter 1 story with every character. Use the gold to buy packs. Then repeat what you did in step 3 and step 7, this time doing neutral cards as well. Congrats, now you have enough for a f2p tournament winning deck. This is why this game is 5 stars.

Connection issues
Every 2-3 games or so I’ll get a connection issue which brings me back to the main menu. Anyway to fix this?

Deckbuilding is surprisingly restrictive with only 1-2 meta decks each expac, but it has waifus and is playable on poopy devices
So fun, big unbalance
PvP isn’t skill or level based, you’ll run into insane people. After probably 2 weeks of constant play I’m pretty decent, even with a very well hand picked deck for my type, under the best circumstances you’ll lose to cheap decks sometimes in one turn. Lost ranked fights against a resonance player from full 20 health to 0 while he did 2 damage every card play while spending no cost to even play the cards. Fun game. Super unbalanced for multiplayer unfortunately, I’ll still be playing but, it goes to show certain deck types are pretty much trash, even under the best circumstances.

I love this game n the anime series but will there ever be a wolf type leader my deck only contains wolf cards n wolf type cards

A decent game but campaign matches are ridiculously unbalanced without spending money to get a better deck. You do get free packs, but a lot of it is junk.

I hate ladder-based games, but Shadowverse has an amazing(excluding Chapter 9) story
Just like any other CG
Please, spare yourself the headache. It’s one of the many CG that devolved into having a single unstoppable card that instantly wins the game, with no practical way to counter when placed. I say without exaggeration, there’s a card that will GUARANTEE your opponent takes 12 damage when placed. The very next turn, if they can’t deal 21 damage, they take another 13 damage. Max HP is 20.
Really enjoyable game
I really love how many free packs you get from this game, allowing you to build a decent deck without spending hundreds of dollars. Add to that some gameplay that rivals hearthstone in enjoyment and you've got a great game. My only issues are minor ones, like how i don't support their self censorship, but that hardly takes away from the enjoyment

I can say I honestly do enjoy the game. On that note it is on the newer side I would say and there are also different formats as well. So I suggest that if I am to loose I would like to be able to go back and view the screen and the effects of the card or cards that where on the field to get a better understanding of the game. In contrast to have to replay the whole match over again and fast forward until the end of the match
