Thank you for this awesome app
I love this app so far, and I think the false positive rate is low. Not even the best discriminator can achieve 100% accuracy (you can ask LLMs to generate highly suggestive images, for example), so this is working decently. Having to explain what I saw on social media that triggered the warning to my gf is probably the best way for me to avoid using social media at all - for the better. I used covenant eyes 4 years ago but their browser was trash, so the “monitor everything” feature is the best.
Robbed me of my money
Just decided to log me out one day and refuse to find my subscription (despite the sub being active in my apple subscriptions). Didn’t let me log back in causing me to jump through massive hoops to get this garbage off my phone. Literally robbed me of my $130 for annual pass then locked me out a few months later. Stay away unless you just like setting your money on fire and creating a massive headache for something that’s easy to find bypasses to view the content I’m trying not to :(
App removal
I could not get the app to open as I needed to remove several unused apps from my phone. I tried reaching out to support but no luck in getting back to me. I had to completely reset my iPhone and reinstall all my apps.
Suddenly cannot log in
Traveling and I cannot log in. Very frustrating
Good but with flaws
Overall the app works pretty decent, however one bug I have found is that if you want to unblock or block an app, it’s impossible to make that happen. When you select unblock/block app it takes you into checking the safari extension and then never lets you go any further. I have zero ways to unblock/block an app. May consider using another service again. As this is quite annoying.

Can’t even read the news
I get flagged for hot sauce, news articles that mention the word se* and a lot of other things that have nothing to do with pr0n. This app is attempts to exacerbate the issue by sending all sorts of mislabeled things to an accountability partner. There are a lot of better ways to find accountability than be accused of a bunch of things you didn’t do.
Great app with some changes that need to be made
When researching Porn accountability apps, we were searching for something that was focused on the accountability aspect as opposed to the filtering aspect. That is why we landed on ever accountable since it was marketed as a an accountability software only and said that filtering was not the goal. After installing the app on my iPhone, we were testing the notification system and if my wife would be instantly alerted if I accessed a flagged website. While testing this, we attempted to access pornhub and other sites. We found that the websites were blocked. We went through the Apple settings and ever accountable settings to make sure we did not have a user error and had enabled filtering. Also, while using the safari extension, I attempted to change the Google and DuckDuckGo search settings to not filter content. With DuckDuckGo, the search filter settings are set to strict and can not be changed. Google allows you to turn off safe search, however when testing the actual functionality of this like trying to google pornhub, the website does not pop up. It appears that the filtering system is still activated. Additionally, I set up a call with Zackson to see if there was something that I was missing in terms of the restrictive filtering. Zackson explained that the ever accountable app did not filter websites but said that the filtering was as a result of the app working through Apple screen time which automatically restricted access. Zackson said at this moment, there are not user accessible settings that would remove the restrictive aspect and would need to be dealt with through the app engineers and Apple. Zackson also explained that the restrictiveness also blocked users from accessing dating websites. While I don’t use these sites, I could see how this restrictive nature could be difficult for someone who is looking to meet other people but is struggling with a porn addiction. I would HIGHLY encourage ever accountable to work diligently with Apple to have whatever restrictive features are associated with the screen time extension to be removed or at least able to be turned off/disabled. It felt like a bit of false advertising when the app was marketed as focused on accountability only and not filtering. Another suggestion on the accountability partner side: while tinkering around with the app and settings, my wife would get the notifications of the changes that I was making which is perfectly fine. When I would onto her phone and view my report, it would show that there was concerning activity detected from my device. It would be nice if there was a way to view the concerns and then mark them as read without having the option to delete the notifications. This would make it easier for the accountability partner to essentially mark off that they had viewed the concerns and reset the report to be in good standing so that way they know if there are any additional concerning reports after the items had already been reviewed. As a whole, I am happy with the way the app operates and sends notifications to my accountability partner instantly. I have not experienced any drain in battery life or performance decline as a result of having the app installed. I like how the extension can be used in Safari and brings the user a greater sense of normality as opposed to being restricted to only using the ever accountable app to access the internet. I also like how the app can be uninstalled or or settings changed by the person struggling with the addiction (with the knowledge that your accountability partner will be notified of the change). It makes it feel like there is a greater sense of freedom and choice to use the app to break free from the addiction and willingness to have the application installed. Overall, I think that ever accountable is doing a great job and has been very helpful with answering my questions. I would be willing to work with the development team to help improve the app in the areas that I have specified and improve the user experience. Thanks for what you guys are doing!
Great idea. Flawed execution.
I wanted to like the new update, I really wanted to. In theory it’s a great idea: a screen recording allows apps to function with an AI moderator to monitor for adult content. HOWEVER, almost any type of entertainment app (YouTube TV, for example) prohibits screen recording while using it: so the app is unusable entirely. I know I can whitelist it: but because it’s an app that connects to the internet it will flag it to my accountability partner. Also: for some reason the app flags certain websites visited in Safari as app usage. I view NFL subreddits on Safari because Safari is still “monitored via the browser extension” but it shows up as an app in screen time, causing confusion about unmoderated time when it was all within a moderated platform. It appears to do the same with Facebook. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars instead of 1 is that their tech support is awesome. But please be careful not to brick your phone or cause unnecessary panic by updating to the new version of this app until they work out the bugs.
Broken, was promising though
I wanted this app to work and it does, intermittently. The random disconnects on devices and faulty reporting with false flags makes it very difficult app to use with your accountability partners. But perhaps the biggest annoyance was trying to remove the app from iPad OS devices after canceling the subscription. It is convoluted and downright would not work, could not remove until I had tinkered for quite a while, and I work in IT! I wish the team the best, and you, but I personally wouldn’t waste time on this app again.
Great app!
Great accountability app! When I was deciding which app to use, I had three main priorities: it had to work across all my Apple devices (MacBook, iPhone, and iPad), keep my data secure from hackers, and not be easy to get around the monitoring. So far, it’s worked well on all my Apple devices. I also like that their security practices are audited by a third party (ISO certified). That lets me know they’re actually protecting my data from hackers how they claim they are. And the app takes screenshots on each device, which honestly feels like the only real way to prevent workarounds of the monitoring and make accountability actually work. There are probably apps out there which are more convenient to use, but at the expense of there being easier ways to get around the monitoring
New version not realistic to use
I have had Ever Accountable for over 10 years. I have had a lot of success and it’s been a great experience. This latest update has been a huge disaster. You will be required to turn on a screen monitoring mode every time you do anything on your phone. It turns off when you make a call then you will need to manually turn it back on. The monitoring is so tight you can’t watch Americas Got Talent. The panel judges wear to inappropriate clothing and it automatically kicks you off. This app has gone from a helper to a hovering bible school teacher. This might be good for kids under the age of 8 years old but unrealistic for anyone else.
Good app overall
This is a good app overall, I like how it works but I just have one issue with this app, which is that the VPN will change the location of where I am then everything I see, like ads on various platforms are based on the area that I don’t even live close to. This also makes it difficult to search for products online, if you are looking at buying something because it will only show shops in that place where the VPN has placed you.
Charges before setting up
I hate when they charge and then let you set it up. Because during the setting up, I realized it blocks me of using sooo many useful apps entirely like: youtube, Chrome, Telegram. If the app is not able to monitor these typical apps what it does then?! Basically it turn your phone to a dummy phone. Not happy with the forced money I pay to try

Developers listen
The recent update allows you to use social media apps again, honestly though I got used to life without them and enjoy it more not using social media on my phone. Their newest update was unnecessary for me and low key bricked my phone , it was a really frustrating user experience. That being said I’m glad they listened to feedback and rollback the update and give the choice now. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it / but now if you want to go that route at least you can.
Use Something Else
I’ve been using Ever Accountable for years and have had a good experience until this latest update. My accountability partner gets alerted to unmonitored app usage despite those apps being configured in the app to require screen sharing to use. They need to fix these massive issues before you should consider giving them money for a service like this. Go use Covenant Eyes.
Changed
Unfortunately the app has changed. There were key features available like being able to check immediately before and after screenshots allowing more access to the content being viewed. Now there are jumps in the screenshots by minutes and some apps that are blocked so you can’t see what they’re looking at in them. It was great the first time we used it. The second time there’s not much point without these features.
Stuck on screentime permission
I can not get past the screentime permission screen, it takes me to the prompts to allow screentime, but when I push it it takes me back to the permission screen.

New app is awful
Update 4: it’s not bad enough everything that happened with this app and the grief it caused my wife, but now I get weekly emails from them asking “how did we do?” Are you absolutely kidding me. You did awful. Stop the stupid emails. Update three as of January 28, 2026. My wife just continued to get Aaron messages that I needed her support immediately. This was happening in the middle of her workday. Support team keeps telling me their engineering team is working on it, but there’s been no results. The response from them below is a joke. They act like they sincerely want to help, but they do nothing to stop the lousy app from malfunctioning. they kept telling me the Eruda toolbox was not a problem from ever accountable, however, it’s funny that it went away as soon as I deleted the app. This app was supposed to help support me and my wife to know that I was not doing anything as far as acting out, but it just caused more problems between us. Update two as of January 25, 2026 Ever Accountable just keeps piling up the nonsense. In Safari, I now have a hammering wrench in the bottom right corner of my screen that I cannot get rid of. Thanks for making my online experience just miserable. From ChatGPT “Ever Accountable v19.1.30 is the known-bad build that exposes the Eruda debug console overlay in Safari on iOS 26.x. That hammer-and-wrench button you’re seeing is 100% a bug in EA 19.1.30, not Safari, not malware, and not a shopping helper.” UPDATE: As of JAN 17, 2026 the broadcast is malfunctioning! It’s on, but my apps are still locked out. Great job seizing my phone. You’ve locked out my Bible and faith apps, banking & investments, maps, calendar, calculator, Adobe, email, Ring doorbell, ADT security, and others that make no sense at all and all add up on my 50 app limit. It’s not practical to have to “unlock” everything every 2 minutes. I watched your video, I’m not nearly as excited as you are. I shouldn’t have to through your unlock function to get to my ADT Security app for goodness sake. I watched your “explainer video” and the other response. You have made my phone a flip phone and you just keep blaming Apple. The app was better when I didn’t have to think about it and press the button every time I open my phone. This is not helpful. It actually creates anxiety more than it helps me. Oh yeah, you blocked my Covenant Eyes/ Victory Shield accountability app too. Good grief. So this morning there was an update and I thought “oh great, maybe they fix some of the problems“, nope, they just made it worse and my 50 apps that I had on the White list are now gone and I have to do it all over again. thanks so much Ever Accountable for making things even worse within 24 hours of this awful update. And the issues just pile up. For the last two nights at midnight, the app has reported to my accountability partner, my wife, that I was disconnected from the app. Doesn’t say how long just that I was disconnected at midnight, both nights. This update is causing nothing but stress, strife, and a rift between my wife and I. Thanks a lot.
Never works properly
Always stopping monotoring for the person accountable... always problems when i want to see the reports. Concept is nice, but the software is not.
VPN Is Horrible
The app is great, but the VPN will randomly shut down my internet connection and give me absolutely no warning! I have to work from this device and now it takes 5 minutes to uninstall the VPN and reinstall it. This happens up to 5 times a day. I don’t experience the same on my desktop, only on my iPhone. Update - Love the fix
I woke up this morning and saw ever accountable now allows you to restrict only the apps you desire! This is wonderful and lets me have control over the rest of my phone again while also having a way to safely use native social media apps. Great work team! Thanks for listening to the feedback.
Update ruined app and functionality
I was a user of EA for 5+ years until this recent update. I wish there was a way to use the version of Ever Accountable before the update - no one wants to double tap the back of their phone every time they use an app. Hijacked is a good word to describe this situation. You pay for an annual subscription, the developers change the core features of the app and how it operates, and you are left with an app that no longer works. I’m extremely conflicted as I truly believe old EA was the best accountability software when combined with IOS screen time restrictions. Now I’m inclined to look to other companies - this update ruined the app.
Update Freezes on Open
iPhone XS. Every time I open the browser, it now freezes on a white screen. It does not matter if the VPN is on or not, it remains frozen. Sometimes turning the VPN on while the browser is open crashes the app. Love this app however, I currently am unable to use it for anything and am forced to use a potentially unsafe alternative.
Great principle, not great in England
Their customer service is fantastic and responsive and they try to help where they can. Unfortunately, I live in England and there are SO many examples of websites not working due to the VPN. Streaming services also have difficulty and I cannot use most of them. Find myself having to remove VPN to access certain apps as well, which goes against the point in having the VPN. I dislike that all my search engine results are from the US as well as defaults on websites, but this isn’t as frustrating as not being able to access websites.
Device registration bug
I have no qualms with EverAccountable for the most part, but there’s just one issue. Every time I log into the app, my phone is registered as a new device, so now I have multiple devices registered and all of them are exactly the same.
App is Garbage
2/5/26 update: it’s been two full days and it’s still not working as intended. When I unlock the apps everything locks back up in 3 seconds while it’s still broadcasting. I get a message saying to open the app to unlock and broadcast when the broadcast is still going. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I HAVE APPS TO USE. The app basically bricks your phone the moment you give it permission. I shouldn’t have to whitelist basic and necessary apps to use my phone. You have to start a screen record broadcast to use any app not whitelisted. The AI that “monitors” your screen will flag ANYTHING that is slightly inappropriate. Basically, your accountability partner will be notified and sent a screenshot for anything they flag as inappropriate. This is not building trust, this is invasion of privacy and ultimately leads to questions from your partner on what you’re doing. The screen broadcast lags my phone, and adding it as a widget does nothing to make unlocking my apps faster. And randomly, you’ll unlock the apps and then after 3 seconds, all the apps lock back up while you’re still sharing your screen. So what’s the point of this stupid feature that doesn’t work. I understand trying to to quit p**n but my goodness you do not need to lock my phone down. If I could leave this with 0 stars I would. The owner seems so proud in his “why” video. This is not something to be proud of. Especially if you’re charging a monthly subscription.
Not really working
This app only seems to monitor stuff happening inside the app. Any other browser, including safari and in app browsers don’t report any activity which makes this app pretty much useless. Unless I set something up wrong it doesn’t really seem to work.
VPN Toggle
For iPhone users, can the VPN be made in such a way that it can be toggled off and on only by the accountability partner for the sake of of enhanced accountability and transparency.

This is a biblical way of being delivered from pornography where your free will is not overused but you are accountable with your friends. This will and I can testify has helped me on the journey of being delievered from pornography. Thank God and you guys for this app And the support team is amazing always answers as if I have them as one of my contacts.
WAS a great app
I have used this app for 7 years now and it was a great help to me when I was struggling. The new update is TERRIBLE! I have had such a great streak for the last 2 years on accountability and still maintaining it. After the recent update, it has been so frustrating. It’s notifying my accountability partner often for absolutely no reason and has sent atleast 15 warning emails to them in last 2 weeks. It’s glitching terribly and locking all my apps. Sadly, I’m looking for a new accountability app unless these glitches get resolved.
The buggy set up on iPhones is a disaster
Why no screen shots on iPhones? Why are you trying to make this thing do 25 things? Do the things it’s meant to do well. The VPN does not add value. This is incredibly frustrating. If you can’t make this work on IPhones, remove it from the App Store.

Too Pricey
For what you pay for, and what you get does not add up... There are other apps for the same price but keeps tabs on ALL apps including safari. It would be great if this app monitors all your apps. I suggest you should look around more...

I use this app just for monitoring, no restricting. After the most recent update, it’s blocking all app usage even in monitoring mode. This defect is causing my phone to be unusable
