Awesome, couple of things though.
This app is actually so much easier to use than other apps, and ever since MTG cardsmith implemented the 30-card limit this place has been a lifesaver. There are a few obscure card types missing such as battles, plane cards and others, but that matters very little. The basics are here and that means the rest can be made with a few simple extra steps (I do it all the time by making plane cards out of land cards)! However, there is one glaring problem: the difficulty of selecting images. The way it’s done is very confusing, and the size of the photo library is tiny. If this was updated, I’d say this would be a masterpiece of an app. This is an amazing app, and I’m glad it isn’t demanding money for everything. Thank you a lot for this masterpiece.
Camera issues
When you go to add an image, it wants to take a picture instead of letting you add a image
Solid, but not comprehensive.
I have used this card creator app for several years and feel confident stating that is the best of its type available on the App Store. However, it does show its age somewhat in places: Saga enchantments were introduced several years ago and have yet to make it into the available templates. The Planeswalker template also supports a hard limit of three abilities; no Jace, the Mind Sculptor types with 4+ or War of the Spark planeswalker with only two. Card creator does support static abilities on Planeswalker cards as of recently. In summary - Card Creator is not perfect, but suitable for most needs.
Would not recommend
It’s stupid that you have to do a pay wall basically do anything you don’t get to choose the cards rarity border or basically anything. The only thing you can choose to do is the art power, toughness and ability that’s it make it so you can have everything without having to join the Patreon just make it so you have everything at the start but there’s some ads this game was so disappointing
The UI needs to be fixed
This used to be my favorite app for making custom MTG cards, but a recent update ruined it for me by having the UI cover the name and mana cost. The problem seemed to be fixed in a more recent update, but I still can’t change the mana value or names of Planeswalker cards.
Great Game, Can be Improved
This game is super helpful for designing Magic cards, but there are a few things that it isn’t capable of: 1. You can’t add abilities to tokens. 2. You can’t make your own expansion symbol. 3. For planeswalkers, you can only have 3 abilities, no more no less, which means you can’t have static abilities. 4. It would be helpful if the game kept track of the amount of each type of card you have in each folder. It would make set building much easier 5. You can’t make the oracle text have italics, of which you need in order to write some keywords like “raid” or “morbid” or fathomless descent” 6. You can’t add the symbol that means the card is double sided. Thank you for reading my opinion. Also, for those of you thinking about becoming a patron: it’s definetly worth it!
Locked behind paywall

Unable to subscribe
Solid mtg card maker unfortunately I am unable to subscribe to the app and features I want to use are locked behind that paywall. I’ve deleted the app and redownloaded it twice. I’ve closed the app down hoping that would resolve the issue but nothing seems to be working. I hope this issue gets resolved in the near future so I can utilize the app and all its features.
Missing existing mechanics
The app is ok but it needs a way to add non loyalty type effects to plainswalkers, also it needs a way to add stuff like the adventure and omen cards or cards that flip/transform. This is all stuff that exists in magic already and most of these gimmicks have existed for a while so to not be able to do even everything they actually can with existing cards limits the creativity greatly.
Gets the job done
Very solid. Hasn’t been updated in 6 years, but there’s just nothing else. Artificer is practically unusable. CardCreator functions great no bugs
So much fun
I absolutely love this app, I’ve made over 150 cards so far and many more to come, I’ve never had a problem with it and I’ve told a lot of my friends about the app and some of them have started making cards as well
SO DIFFICULT FOR NO REASON 😡😡😡
If there is one word I could use to describe this app, it would be that it is garbage. It is so hard to use and why do I need to become a patron to change MY own card. If you really want there to be better ratings, try making it to where the card creator can access everything for free and without becoming a patron.

I wish you could put static abilities on planes, walkers, and also having it so that you could make saga’s would be nice too
Two Color options shouldn’t be locked to patron members
I get locking some features, however locking the option to make a frame two color makes the app nearly unusable honestly. You cannot make two color cards look like they should in this app, they have to be 3+ color or mono color. Honestly I even think locking the gold frame makes more sense than this.

I can’t select a photo, when I do it doesn’t apply to the card and leaves the card blank.
Honestly great
I think this app is awesome, I love being able to bring literally whatever I want to life. I have two minor, personal complaints, though. I would like to see a better way of unloading pictures, the current way is kinda buggy and not very intuitive. Also, I’d like to see an update where we get more card designs, like full art, Sagas, and maybe double sided (transform) cards! Other than that, great app, I would highly recommend if you like magic, being creative or being wacky.
They say “Somethings” are patron required
Heres my issue, There isnt the ability to do the very basic thing of duel colored frames is patron when no other app does that

Great so far, one quick suggestion
Extremely modular and efficient app for card making I would never expect to find on the appstore, especially considering I’ve heard only two people are working on the app. This is actually my first review, to tell you how impressed I am. I do however, have one tiny thing I’d like to request of the developers of the app, and that is to be able to move your cards in the collection area. It would allow people to move their cards into new folders and reorganize them how they choose, something that would help I think a lot of people who just got a hold of the app in particular. Either way, can’t thank the creators enough for making such a good app!
Seriously? THIS is how you chose to do it?!
A horizontal, one-by-one photo selector? Seriously? That doesn’t make ANY sense. Not only does it make it a pain in the side to just find the pic you’re looking for, it doesn’t even WORK when you do find it. Hitting the Finish button after selecting an image brings you back to the card editing screen WITHOUT PUTTING THE IMAGE YOU SELECTED IN THAT SCREEN. It makes absolutely no sense why this app causes you to waste time trying to find an image you want only to keep you from using it in the first place.
Overall Great
One tiny Nit pick about planeswalkers, we need a way for a “Consitent ability” so that they make have things like “When a colorless card enters, exile target permanent”
Images are way to difficult to select
I really like the concept behind this app. Everything is super easy to use except the images. If it was just having to scroll through photos, I could just get a screen grab of the image I want to use and use it. But the photos are not showing up on chronological order which means I have to scroll through all of my photos (I have a lot) to find the image o want to use. That is just unworkable. It also looks like this app hasn’t been updated in 2 years so it’s not likely going to get fixed. I would definitely become a patron to unlock the extras, but not when the basic functionality is thus broken. Unfortunately I can’t recommend this app at this time.
Card text way to large.
Modern cards often use smaller text than is offered in this app. Take the most recent 5 LCI gods ; all have 9 lines of text split into at least 3 paragraphs. Many of the the rates in the set have 5 lines of rules text and 3 lines of flavor text. This app doesn’t let you design cards in line with the standard for cards today
A breath of fresh air
I’ve come to expect all mobile apps, especially the numerous garbage card making apps. But this is a breath of fresh air! No ads, a reactive developer that listens, the only paywall is cheap and it’s only for something not really needed (Plus since the dev is kind enough to have no ads they need that paywall, app development is a business and fees need to be paid). A really great app overall! My only complaints are some minor QOL changes and a big bug I’ve been dealing with for a while. The big bug is after being on the app for a while it starts to slow and lag, eventually becoming seriously slowed and then crashing. However I have noticed it’s not as severe as it used to be, so I assume they are working on it. The other complaints are just some quality of life things, mostly being modern abilities, the new card types such as sagas and adventure cards, and the ability to create your own card text abilities (Maybe a separate menu where you add them like within the glossary. It doesn’t need to be a public sharing thing but maybe later you can add the option to share) Overall an amazing app with amazing devs! If you are anyway interested in making MtG cards and you’re above the age of 19 to understand why some things are the way they are, then definitely download this app!
You pretty much can’t do anything without paying
Seriously quite the trash program. You can find better card makers online that are actually free.
Wonderful app, but lacking some much desired features
I’ve been using this app for a little while now, and I think it is amazing and quite useful for making themed cards to show to my friends. Sidenote: it runs slowly sometimes, delayed responses and whatnot, but that only really happens after using the app for a long time. However, I have come across a need for some features that I think would be beneficial to the users of this app: - Make cards that transform into other cards, as this would be very useful for making more complex cards. - Be able to add extra text to planeswalkers besides the ability text. - Support for artifact tokens, since this would allow for some much-needed functional customizability. - Adventure effects on cards, because it would be cool. As for visual customization, I think these features would be quite nice: - Full art lands - Allow alternate card skins (as in, borderless, translucent text boxes, karlov manor magnifying glass, etc.) Given its current features, I still consider it an amazing app for those who want to make MTG cards such as myself, but it could use some more options on how to make cards.
Unable to launch
Updated and app still does not load, just crashes. I would try reinstalling it but I don’t want to lose all the data I’ve already created
Nice app but it doesn’t actually work
For me this app does not allow you to access your photos. You can, however, snap a picture with your phone and upload it that way. It’s supposed to access your Photos app but again it just doesn’t. It says it’s trying to load them, but never does. If you can fix this, this would be a great app.
Loading Issue
I gave it 5 stars because it’s a really great app but a certain qualm I have is, and I don’t know if this is happening with other people, the app numerous times has not been loading up. Upon pressing the App’s button, it loads and then immediately crashes. Usually by constantly opening it, the app starts up but I have loaded the app 30 or more times now and each time it immediately crashes soon after. I’ve already restarted the phone to see if that would help but it did nothing. This is also why I’m writing this as a review because I can’t get into the app.
Doesn’t Work
When I tried to put an image into the box, it did not work. This is a big problem considering that the only thing that did work for images were ones that you took a picture of right then.
A Game With Growth Potential
This game is great. It’s got all the materials needed to make a decent Magic card, I get to see all the amazing things people are making, and if I ever get confused about Magic card terms, I can just use the app to find it out. The only thing I would say is this: 1. Double-Sided Cards. A feature for a good Magic card. 2. Vintage and Alternate Card Designs. Some option in card appearance. 3. Some Direction In Card Format. A solution to confusion in Magic card making. It may not be perfect, but you’re doing great. It’s better than I could do, and the Patron thing is totally understandable. Keep up the good work!
Seems good, won't open
I installed this app, but as soon as I opened it, it closed after around half a minute.
Impossible to find photo
Everything else is great, but unfortunately my photo album is in a completely different order than stored on my phone, and I cannot view all of my photos. Just this awful reel at the bottom of the camera. Please let me choose to search through existing photos, or use the camera, separately from each other. And please include a better way to search through my photos. Only being able to see 3 at a time in a library of thousands is impossible.
I love the game!
I really like the game very addictive but in a good way i really like it and i think they should make more of these games i also like the fact that you can publish your art for free kinda a bummer you can only do it every 24 hours unless you pay but you gotta make money somehow so won’t hold it against ya but i love the game please play with endless possibilities p
Inappropriate for kids
The app age rating is 4+. However in the community section, there are many inappropriate pictures of almost nude women and people making out. My kids use this app for creating cards, and now got exposed to these disturbing pictures. I hope the developer will change the age rating to teen and up.

Restrictive, but easy to use.
First thing I noticed was that many of the aspects of the card creator were restrictive, and had pre-set options. Granted there are several options for many of these elements, but not completely open ended. However, on the flip side, it is very easy to use, and many of the aspects are well designed. If the aspect of an open ended card creator could be combined with the simplicity that currently exists, I’d see this as a nigh perfect mobile card creator.
Card Creator Review.
I honestly have no idea why there are so many bad reviews of this app. It’s actually a really solid card creating app. There’s not much wrong with it. I the interface is really easy to use, all the correct symbols are there, the community tab is fun, and saving stuff to your phone is easy. I’d only have just a few suggestions, not really complaints. —First, yes, the community tab is sometimes strange, but that’s just going to be the way it is with any community-based sharing app. —Second, I wish we had a fourth planeswalker ability slot, be it for a passive ability or a loyalty ability. Still solid though. —The image editing for the card art is a little weird, as I had some trouble starting out, but once you figure out how to use it you’re fine. Honestly, great app.

You have the age wrong
To the developer of this app. There is a serious problem in the age limit. It’s the content seen it could be up to 19+ and not 4+. You should rally consider making it appropriate. Other than that great app to make cards
Excellent Card Creator
The best MTG card creator I’ve been able to find. It doesn’t have every MTG design element available to use (Personally, I’d love futureshifted frames), but this is clearly one person making the app, and it is still being worked on. Excellent work.
