Love this game!!
I remember playing the lite version many many years ago when I was still in high school, and I loved exploring the open world. Now as an adult coming back to this open world adventure is so nostalgic and it’s amazing how much the game has evolved! Imo still one of the most beautiful open world games on the app store
Total Disappointment
This game is described as Open world….think again, follow this arrow, go there, do this do that, gave up after playing for about half an hour….Don’t waste your money on this, like I did, should be a way to get a refund, because of its bad description

Beautiful game that a 4 year old can play
This is one of the few big world where my 4 year old child can play. She can't read yet, but she is able to follow the markers that guides her where to go next. I love this idea! There aren't many grand games that a child can play. Highly recommended for parents!
Stopped working and didn’t save progress…
Wanted something relaxing and open world so this looked like the kind of thing I’d like. However, after a couple of hours I don’t like the constant orange icon to tell you where to go and all actions are just done for you. There is nothing to do other than walking into the next orange icon.. then after doing a few things with ‘Bot’ and ‘defeating’ the boss, I got thrown out and nothing has saved. Not relaxing just kind of annoying.

Gorgeous but unplayable without controller
I’m about fifteen minutes into the game (iPad Pro 12.9) and struggling like crazy trying to collect the first items guarded by ‘monsters’. Rando walks slowly. I can’t get him to run at more than a jog, or jump reliably. It’s maddening. I would love to play more but don’t think it’s possible for me to successfully retrieve the items needed with the controls the way they are. I’ve fiddled with them and nothing seems to work. I can’t imagine how difficult further challenges would be. Any advice would be gratefully accepted.

I love the game, it’s relaxing and fun to play and explore. It would be so much better if you could add controller support for it for when I am playing on the iPad or my phone. I hate having to cover up some of the world with my gigantic thumbs lol.

Seriously Bad controls
(Fyi I played on an ipad pro with 256gb memory, most of which is unused. I had nothing else open.)There may be a great game here, but it is likely I’ll never know. Just too exhausting to even try to make the character move in the correct direction, let alone any other action. Camera goes all over the place and constantly gets too close in to the main character - I tried moving it out but just zooms in again. Tried first person and same thing. Try to select to move in a specific direction by pressing on the screen and half the time the character just continues to stand around. When he does move, the camera swings wildly and so do the characters movements. Just awful. Music and visuals are good but there is no voice - or only a compressed squeal when there should be voice. Everything is in a text box at the very bottom of the screen, which I miss half the time while struggling to control the characters movements - so I’m missing most of the dialog. Characters do have speech bubbles sometimes, but text does not appear in them. There are a range of movement settings, but none of them helped - just a mess. Touching a character or object seems to accomplish nothing - perhaps this is a port from a different platform as this game seems not designed for touch controls. Sadness.
Forget fortnite
This is real game that, unlike fortnite IS NOT out for your money, the graphics are incredible( but the controls could use some work) But I love the storyline(s) and the idea of turning into animals and monsters, and CHANGING THE GRAPHICS!!!

4,49 € für ein Spiel, das nach 1 Stunde vorbei ist. Das ist doch allenfalls eine Demo! Habe mich darüber sehr geärgert!
Hard decision
This was a hard decision to decide between 3 or 4 stars. There is some polishing that needs to be done, there is to much functionality in the menu it needs to be simplified. The Audio is very basic the characters need speech, txt dialogue does not draw you into the game. The combat is very poor and the camera views play up often. The environment is very nice, In general it’s pretty good for a solo project.

I understand people want money but the way you went about it is kinda deceiving the buyers for 3$ you could of made it a 2hrs game play. It was less then 20mins of action not bad though your a intriguing developer but with all the others out there, I don’t doubt your give them a run for the money. I played love&tin will check out the other one a later time. But keep at it thumbs up
Terrible
I spent 4 dollars for a cheap graphic, slow moving, crappy game. First, you cant even move fast. Second, its not beautiful as evreyone says, its just CRAP. The deer doesnt even have eyes! Third, NOTHING goes fast, your slow, BOT is slow, the wolf is slow, the EAGLE is slow! AND EAGLES ARENT SLOW. I have have tons more to say but I wont.
Resolution
This game is great and has some of the best graphics I have ever seen for an iOS game, but the resolution is not right for the iPad Pro 11 in.. if you could just fix the resolution I would be completely satisfied with the game. Thank you!
NOT OPTIMIZED
I’m not sure if the developer has given up on this game or not but I truly hope they haven’t. It looks absolutely beautiful from what I can see. My only issue is that the game is not optimized to fit the display on the new 11 inch iPad Pro. Myself and a few buddies picked it up and were really looking forward to playing through this game only to find out it has huge black borders around the screen. It would make my day if you would consider an update fixing this issue. Michael
Good but could be so much more..
The world is indeed beautiful. The awkward, delayed controls almost make it intolerable. I would love to see this fixed as I may have to give up out of frustration. While the world is beautiful is desperately needs a tune up. I think this game could be almost reinvented with an update to the graphics. A HD remaster if you will. For example I have a iPad Pro 13 inch and I feel like I am in a iPad gen 2 game. Maybe there is no more interest in developing this game and you the developer have moved on. Totally understand, but honestly I would not charge money for a game that sorely needs a reworking to be relevant today. Or sadly this should be a iPhone only game. I hope the money I paid will go towards a remaster though :-). As a single developer this is amazing work for its time and you should take great pride in its development!
Unbelievable.
I bought this game years ago when it didn’t have a story line. I played for 30 minutes and then never touched it again. Now in 2021 playing again with all the Updates and its a completely different game. I thought it would be the same game as vandgels - that game I finished already and loved it. This game looks similar but everything feels different. I’m very grateful for this experience. I’m looking for more games that are relaxing. That do not require shooting or killing anyone constantly. Something to play at night that may actually help me fall asleep. That being said, I will download his new game, wilderness. Thank you.
Doesn't work on the latest iPad Air
I've seen negative reviews before but never given one. This game looks to be amazing, my ideal kind of game. Sadly after an hour I am still stuck n the rock that the first chapter opens on. None of the motion controls work. Please, please developers if you don't work on an iPad let people know. I get the impression I need an extra bit of hardware but this was not made clear when I looked at the blurb before buying. What a waste of my time.

On level 2 it should be spelt ‘heroes’ instead of ‘heros’. Sorry but one star down because it’s so annoying when people have so obviously put so much effort into making something beautiful (which this is, undoubtedly) but can’t even be bothered with “A is for apple... B is for butterfly...”

Frustrating
I honestly found it very frustrating. I didn’t play for long because I could not figure out how to work the controls. My character would stand in one place and I would try everything to get him to move and be unsuccessful. I am not the best at games, but I have played some Final Fantasy. I guess I just couldn’t figure this out. It had controls and various options that I tried. I’ll probably go back in and try it again at some point. It did have a very clear indication of where I was supposed to go with following the light. However, I just couldn’t get my character to move properly in the directions to follow the light. Sometimes I would reach point such as another character and it was not clear at all how to interact with that character. I did experiment in settings with every possible combination of the touch controls. I tried looking around, I tried flying, I tried using the jump mechanism and just jumped in place. I tried looking at different views of the map. There were a few times when I could actually get my character to move and I was momentarily thrilled. But usually 99% of the time the character was out of control and not easy at all to move and stuck in a corner or on top of another character. I couldnt even feed the dog! Simply put, an iPad is not a trackpad. It does not have a gaming pad like a console.. So you shouldn’t design it the same way as you would for a gaming pad, since that doesn’t work. I could move my characters in Final Fantasy on the iPad right away. So whatever they’re doing is what ever you should be doing I guess. But I don’t know, because I am not a game developer. I started with chapter 1. I am playing on a 2018 iPad Pro 12.9” on iOS 12. Looks beautiful but seems it should be easier to move character so I can focus on the story rather than focusing on how to move the character around the map and in rooms.
Wonderful Game!
I am exceedingly surprised at the quality of game play based on the price tag. I would pay $10-15 dollars for this easily, no joke. The music and graphics are amazing, the playability run is very fluid. The controls do take a bit getting used to and I highly recommend going into control settings when you figure out where you want them and lock them in place (makes playing a little easier). The story line reminds me of Zelda from when I was a kid😍. I have been looking for a game that has a great story but does not consume my life. This game is officially part of my favorites collection. I hope you continue to develop more wonderful stories like the one here. Sincerely Liz D

I couldn’t get off the rock at the start. How the hell do you control the avatar. The instructions are non existent. ‘Walk around’ you state, how? Fortunately I can erase the game faster than work out what how to play, move or even get off the rock at the start. A complete waste of time and electricity.
Great game
With an interesting storyline to follow this game is great as a freebie. I really enjoy the theme and the work put into threading the story together through the chapters. If I paid for this game I might be a little disappointed but only because of minor control issues. I would prefer the joystick/buttons be stationary with an option to edit their position. As they are, it becomes difficult to move/look and jump/attack simultaneously. I find myself constantly adjusting my thumb to run. Movement died is a little slow for the expanse of the map as well, but this is remedied by shapeshifting. The grafics are great! Beautiful landscapes. Obviously a lot of work put into the open map world. I've really been enjoying this and will be sharing it with some of my friends after I finish this review!

This is an amazing game
This game is beautiful and amazing. I have absolutely no complaints about the game, however the price was listed as $2.99. I purchased the game and iTunes charged me $18.99. So they charged me something other than the listing price. Be careful. We are contacting iTunes today. I will write an update. I don’t know if they set the listing price wrong or if they are using baiting and fishing scams to get sales. Either way, this is not how to treat customers.
Very enjoyable
I enjoyed the first scenario very much. I also have the other nimian legends game in which my 4 yo grandson watches over my shoulder and tells me where to go.

Such Huge Potential
The graphics are great on the iPad Pro, but what really impresses me is the artistic design. I don’t normally write reviews, but I felt like I needed to because this game is sooooo close to greatness. The music is nice and calming, the sounds could use some work but are still fine. The thing that just completely takes me out of the experience and undoes any relaxing feeling I’m supposed to have is the frustrating controls and camera. It is something that has been so well done in gaming that users don’t even think about it anymore, but BrightRidge snaps you back into a frustrating reality. There are options to change both camera and controls, but it never feels right. I want to reiterate, the world created here is stunning. Artistic design, in general, is hard to describe but the landscapes and angles and lighting and weather are all so unique. I was able to get this game for free, but if the controls and camera would feel as special and cared for as the rest of this game I would GLADLY pay the price for the top tier iOS game that BrightRidge would surely be. Nevertheless, I look forward to seeing what this developer has in store in the future.

Beautiful work in progress, but terrible camera and controls
I really wanted to like this game, but the direction control is extremely twitchy; half the time your character will stop dead, and you will end up rotating the camera around instead. It’s very hard to get the character moving at all, much less steer in any particular direction. Upon hitting a glowing place marker, the camera jumped back dozens of meters... into the air, behind trees, so I couldn’t even see what was happening. If I tapped the description button, there was no evident way to exit the description. On iOS, it would be smarter to have a fixed 3rd party view camera and not allow user camera rotation unless they’re using some sort of dual-stick controller. Other things I expected, like steering while jumping in the air, or double-jumping, aren’t possible either, you can only jump vertically straight up and down, you seemingly can’t jump onto or over things. Given the quirky control scheme, it seemed like simple things like tall grass blocked my way; this makes it feel like much of the terrain is inaccessible. While the level of detail in the graphics and animation are superb, it feels like it was intended for a console; the frustrating inability to simply move and explore the world using touch controls makes this feel like a pretty graphics demo, and not the engaging experience the developer intended. I’m giving this three stars for now, in the hopes that a future update will focus on these basic player mechanics- i look forward to seeing how this progresses.
Why aren’t these games more popular!?
This game was absolutely brilliant! It was intensely emotional as well and I was not expecting that! The final boss was like something out of Shadow of the Colossus. Very well done game! To the developer, I will be buying all of your games because this one blew me away! Thank you for making this, keep doing what you’re doing, you obviously have talent!

I ❤️this game
This game, is beautiful... Everything from the world, to the music, to the story, it is just... beautiful. I didn’t think I could get so emotional over a game, but this proved me wrong. I chose to play as Rando, and as I went on this beautiful journey, it was like watching a sunrise with your best friend. Wow, this game got me all poetic. I love this game so much. I can’t believe that this is an app. It doesn’t deserve to be on an iPad. I would love to see this game become the console game it deserves to be. That way the world can be fully appreciated. The graphics are gorgeous, the music always matches the scene, the stories are compelling and I actually care about the characters. I can’t recall a time I have physically reacted to what I was seeing on screen. It didn’t feel like a game, it felt like a story, and I mean that in the best way. I was invested, I wanted to know what would happen next, instead of “on to the next level”. I love how real your world feels. It felt like you had out a lot of thought into it and how the the beings in that world behaved and went about their daily lives. I also liked how the sequel incorporates elements from this game. After playing the demo, I played Vandgels. I loved it so much I wrote a review and downloaded this one. It was cool to see elements in this game that made me think “oh, that goes on to become ______” or “wait, is that the ______ that I saw at the _____ of the other game?” I love playing these games. They are examples of what happens when an artist is allowed to create their vision. With the right team and funding, I think you are capable of making the next “The Last of Us”. I wish I could give you a 20 star rating. Just to bump it up to the 5 star you deserve. I looked through the other reviews and saw the ones that are, less than favorable. First off, they don’t know what they are talking about, most likely trolls. Second, seeing your response to them made me love your games even more. I loved that despite their attempts to discourage you, you saw the glass half full and pointed out their compliments. Don’t ever let them get to you. Keep up the good work. The game is good but needs more story and better mechanics
Overall this is a good game. The landscape is very nice although not entirely stable graphics wise. The spirits you get are interesting but the ones that can attack could be given more range as the graphic doesn't represent the actual distance of an attack. The music is very nice and the water sounds are excellent. The waterfalls are also very realistic. I like the story mode now available compared to the previous Nimian Legends game but they need more chapters. This is probably something that will appear with updates though. One last thing, I don't think it is appropriate to use Oceanhorn music in this game. It plays at the shrine and anyone who has played Oceanhorn would immediately recognise it. Please use your own music or music that is authorised for you to use. However you may have been allowed to use Oceanhorn music but I doubt it.
